I know i am at a risk and that worries me even more?

Hi so im a 21 year old college student and i have anxiety and depression. I just recently found out my father and another one of his family members were diagnosed or so i was told with schizophrenia (im not in close contact with that side of my family) on my mothers side i think the most anyone has had is very minor cases of depression. Ive been researching my risk and what not ive been through somthing traumatic before (my mother passing and other grief) and i've never experienced anything like hearing voices or anything. I know that i am at a risk and that is flaring up my anxiety really badly. I was reassured that i do not have schizophrenia but i am at a risk just like anyone else. I feel okay currently getting out of a bout with depression but i am just scared. I was told that especially after such a traumatic event and nothing really happening its likely ill never get it. Maybe i am overthinking it and the stigma people have of it.

Schizophrenia doesn't come from events, it comes probably from genetics.  It's a disease.  It is quite different from anxiety and depression.  You either have it or you don't and you'll either get it or you won't, but you don't have it now and you won't get it because you get depressed.
