Is Xanax XR covered under Medicaid?

I'd like to know because when I was in the hospital we did a trial of Xanax and I did ok on it but as with the Ativan I'd have to take it multiple times a day. I know there is a Xanax XR but I don't know if insurance would cover it. What I'd like to know is would Medicaid cover Xanax XR (unknown dose)?

I know in the state I live in Medicaid does cover benzodiazepenes (of which Xanax is one I take Klonopin and receive coverage through Medicaid). I would think it best to call the Medicaid hotline number. As well your local independent living center might be of help as well for informing you specifically who to contact:

medacaid it may be..medicare is not..in ohio

Maybe somebody on here knows if a particular med is covered by Medicaid, but I sure don't. Isn't there a number you can call to find out?
Seems like it would be a frequently asked question..........I mean about which meds are covered, it shouldn't be that difficult to find out.
