Is nerve pain a side effect of zoloft?

Hi.. I upped my dose of Zoloft 5 days ago, and the increased anxiety has abated.. but now something new! I woke up last night with a very sore wrist..I do have some carpal tunnel issues.. but never this painful or long lasting! Today it is still very sore when I move it and very achy.  It is very painful to touch the thumb side of my wrist and up along my thumb. Is this another side effect, and will it go? Of course it is on my left hand... which made for a fun 3.30am wake-up of "its not a heart attack, its not a heart attack" lol.
Thanks,

hi. I been taking Zoloft for a few months now but when I upped my dose I felt something kinda like what you explained. my mom has fibromyalgia and she thinks I have it too. sometimes I get pains in random spots all over my body and the day before I upped my dose I had that pain. the next day after upping I noticed it got worse to where it hurt all the way to the bone. I could hardly move my left hand. I even had to take my charm bracelet off because it hurt so bad which is a big deal because I never take my bracelet off. but a couple days later it went away. so maybe the Zoloft had something to do with it but it could also be our anxiety making us only think itz the Zoloft. which ever it maybe it did go away. hope all is well c:

Magnesium is good! Just ask your Dr or pharmacy FIRST if you can do magnesium WHILE taking Zoloft. :)

Thanks guys.. turns out ive damaged my tendon that runs from my thumb.. much better today..but it sure frightened me when the pain started in the middle of the night!!
No doubt ill be posting again on here.. this has sure been a nerve-wrecking experience for me.. I'm hoping that in a few weeks this will all be behind me and i'll be happy that I started the meds!

These meds can interfere with the absorption of magnesium (and vice versa), so that could be a problem.  Try supplementing with well-absorbed magnesium (be sure to keep your calcium up, as they're in balance) and see if it helps.

All meds come with possible side effects. I've never heard of Zoloft causing this one but you never know. Give your Dr or pharmacist a call to ask if this might be a possible side effect. Since you do have carpel tunnel syndrome that could be what's going on. Best to give your Dr about this though.
