Just wanting some privacy..

At home and at school I feel like no one respects my privacy. I was just going to take a shower and my sister unlocked the door and burst in the room. In gym at school, they won't let me change in shop, (I go to a technical high school) and they say I have to change in the room with all the other girls. I say hell no; I change in shop anyways. I don't feel like it's unreasonable to want privacy for taking a shower..and same with highschool..I mean..am I overreacting? I wish I could just shake the gym teacher, screaming at her that it's not fair that anyone should have to change in the same room as someone else, I don't care if it's the same gender..it's bloody uncomfortable. I did change in there once, when the stall was open. I tend to forget about gym, so the stall gets taken up pretty quick..

I think that it doesn't help that these things have happened and you can get paranoid about future occurrences. I think it'll help if you asked people/your family to have a 'privacy hour' of some sort which can help?
I hope this helps? xx

Probably be a good idea to see a psychologist and talk it out -- get to the why of it.  Basically demystify it and learn why you've made this small thing such a big deal.

How do I get it out of my head, though?

That's the thing -- it isn't creepy.  People are born naked, and we're always naked under our clothes -- naked is natural.  You need to figure out why you think it's creepy, because this aspect of your life really isn't a privacy issue at all, it's something you've gotten into your head.  Which means you can get it out of your head.

I'm not sure, honestly..I just don't like people seeing me that way or me seeing them in that way..quite frankly I think it's kinda..creepy I guess..

Avoiding things that bother you irrationally won't help.  What is it about people seeing you that bothers you?  Privacy is actually a relatively new concept for humanity, when you think about how life has been lived until pretty recently.  It's one thing to need some time to yourself for thinking, reflection, creativity, peace, but changing clothes isn't really a privacy issue in the same sense.  So what is it that makes you uncomfortable?
