Kidney problems?

I know this is the anxiety forums, but I am one of those with health anxiety. Recently l have had issues. Let me start out by saying, I am fat, out of shape (Throwing a football for 10 minutes = arm sore for 2 days), etc...

I live with mom to take care of her. She is 77, diabetic, congestive heart failure, high BP, etc...

She has been in the hospital since Monday. I have had to take on many roles of house work that she did. I have learned that walking a lot and bending over for clothes, picking up around the house, and running....etc.... My lower back hurts awful!!! I have read on many forums about kidneys and stuff, that we tend to misdiagnose ourselves. I learned that where my kidneys are really located and where I am hurting are not the same spot. Plus, if it were my kidneys, it would hurt all of the time, and I would have issues urinating. Which I don't hurt except after exertion and my urine seems fine. Most of the time it is a very clear yellow, sometimes a little darker, but never really dark. Trust me, I watch these things.

Funny thing about health anxiety and tell me if the rest of you do this...

Always look at the color of your urine and stool
Check heart rate multiple times daily
Check blood pressure
Check blood sugar levels if you have the means to.

Very well said, Xx.

It's very easy for someone with no history of anxiety to say, "well, just don't do that!", but those of us who have lived through anxiety know it is just not that easy.  Also, anyone with enough experience would know that anxiety disorders are not "curable".  Treatable?  Yes.  Manageable?  Yes.  Curable?  Not really.

You're right, this community is about support, we are not here to judge.  Don't let one person upset you.  We know how hard it is.  You just have to keep fighting to fight, and keep the professionals (doctor, therapist) abreast of what is going on, so they can help as well.

As hard as it is, set a goal for yourself...start small.  For example...tell yourself, 'I will only check my urine 3 times today".  You can always work up to bigger goals as your anxiety starts to improve and don't get discouraged if you don't always meet those goals..  Once your anxiety becomes more manageable, you will realize you aren't even thinking about checking anymore.

Hang in there hon!

No I am not a doctor and you come across a little judgmental... Unless you suffer from anxiety you don't understand what it's like to live with it and if you do or did suffer from anxiety I would expect a little more compassion... I listen to my body and when something is wrong I see my doctor do no I do not try to treat myself... I do have some health things going on so no it is not all in my head.. This community is here for support and non-judgemental advice so please do not start making assumptions about others until you know all the facts!

your nick name suggest that you are under the control of anxiety and your live is like hell ... cheers buddy ... why are you monitoring your body functions? are you a doctor? If you find anything wrong with that are you capable of solving it? I am sure no so why are you wasting your time... Any doubt with the body then consult a doctor and get the reports .. If nothing is there then everything is there in your brain... and If it is there in your brain then it is curable ... first let me know your medical status....

good job guys .. you have lot of time to think these issues. But the reality is they do not exits in real.... @alvaa: if you have kidney problem then first thing is that you will not get urine at all. Also you can not work in home (daily household work) so as you said you do all this that means you dont have any issues with you kidney .. so why dont you stop thinking ... I will give you one suggestion ... If any thing is serious with your kidney then you will come to know immediatly so no need to wait for symptoms to occur, Also do not do lot of google search because the more you do the more you learn the new symptoms and your brain will start mapping those symptoms to kidney and finally you will land up in health anxiety.... Enjoy life take care of your mother.. take her outside for a walk .. call your friends at home .. have a nice atmosphere at home and enjoy... dont think much ...

It does suck to be this way! when my back starts hurting while I am doing something, I have to put it in my mind, "There is nothing wrong with your kidneys, you are FAT AND OUT OF SHAPE!!! and ONLY You can fix that!!!!"

lol. I fight with myself a lot.

I do the exact same things.. Check my pulse like a million times a day.. Check my blood pressure... Monitor every body function with extreme detail to make sure nothing seems off or feels different.. I also read the labels on a medication bottle at least 10 times to make sure I am taking the correct dose even though I know I correctly read it the first time but if I don't I will panic that I may have overdosed myself hahaha anxiety is a funny thing it drives us to become OCD about things...I think health anxiety is very tough to deal with and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy it absolutely has stolen my life :(
