Lexapro to Cymbalta

After being on Lexapro for almost 6 minths, the doc has me switching to Cymbalta due to the excessive groggyiness on Lexapro. He has me transition this way:
Week 1: 10 mg Lexapro and 30 mg Cymbalta
Week 2: 5 mg Lexapro and 60 mg Cymbalta
Week 3 and on: 60 mg Cymbalta.
Does that look standard? Should I expect any side effects?
Thanks.

Most SSRIs need to be withdrawn slowly over a fairly long period of time if you've been on them for awhile, which you have. I'd say this is more "standard" than what your doctor is doing.
Your doctor has you tapering for only two weeks, which in my totally non-medical opinion is too fast.
Should you expect side effects..........I'd say almost without a doubt, not only from tapering off the Lexapro, but adjusting to the Cymbalta. But bear in mind that we all react very differently to medications so there is no way I can predict what your experience will be like. It really is trial and error with head meds.
You can also call your local pharmacist, who is a DOCTOR of Pharmacology and ask his/her advice on making the switch.
We need to trust our doctors but we should make it our job to be as proactive in our own heatlth care as possible and the more knowledge you have, the more power you have.
I wish you the best
Peace
