Mild chest pain and heart feels like it's beating fast.

I have a mild pain in my chest on the left where the heart is. It hurts a but when touched too. My heart feels like it's beating fast, but it isn't. Sometimes I feel like I've just ran up a hill.
I feel a bit nervous and emotional, my right eye always feels tired and straining , I feel down sometimes and always not 100% right, since going to a&e 6 months ago, where they did blood tests ecg and chest scans were all normal, I've had occasional panic attacks heart feeling like it's beating fast, shortness of breath and all of a sudden sensitive to heat. And a cycle of stress, feeling depressed then ill, like colds like feeling. Then starts over again.

Doctor had referred me to call a therapist as I mentioned my feelings of stress with work, but it's hard to explain when your mind goes blank and trying to fit all your feelings. Why would my social anxiety and stress with work make me sensitive to heat for example?

I called the surgery regarding the chest pain. I don't know if I'm overreacting but I felt that the nurse was pushing me to make an appointment with the therapist rather than bother them.

Is it more likely I've got a psychological problem? I feel awkward calling them and always feel I've been misdiagnosed.

Hello~I am sorry you are experiencing these issues. They truly sound anxiety-related. I know I have gone to the ER with similar symptoms only to be told it is just "nerves" The more we worry about these feelings, they worse they do become, it is a vicious circle.

I suggest taking a good, high potency Vitamin B complex along with a multi-mineral supplement, make sure it has adequate amounts of calcium, magnesium and potassium as they are the minerals that help with the heart rhythm.

I'm sorry you're going thru this. Stress can cause the body to do some funky things. Believe it or not, stress can lead to anxiety and can lead to chest pain, facial twitching, shaking, shortness of breath and weak at the knees. Just overall horrible feelings. I think it's wise that you go see a therapist. Just try it once. Maybe a psychiatrist for medication. It helps. It can be treated. Allow yourself to receive the help. This is your body telling you to slow down and take care of yourself.

Anxiety doesn't make all these things happen *for instance it doesn't make your face twitch or else the army would be in trouble on the battlefield when people were anxious) , although you tense up and sweat in fear. People with anxiety over-analyze their body looking for clues to the fearful appearing twitches, ouches, itches etc which were always there but you just ignored them before.

It is all in your head, because t seems so real that you start over-analyzing your body and keeping track of things that you would normally ignore because they are meaningless. The fact your chest hurts to touch it is the best example - your heart is on the other side of your ribcage which is designed to protect it from injury, so you are not feeling a sore heart with your finger.
You should go to the therapist as the doctor prescribed, because they are familiar with many people who have been in your situation and might be able to help you in ways you can't imagine without talking to them.

Hi Matt, yes, it could be only a psychological problem. We are created by God as complex human beings, but everything in our body, mind, spirit, soul (emotions ie, fear, stress, anxiety, etc) work altogether and affects one from the other. Our body do not work independently from another and i can relate to you as i have just been stressed, very bad, from work. It affected my physical being with tests returned normal results. The reason why probably your heart is beating fast (i had palpitations) is that it is going through or recovering from the stress you were into. We may not always realise this but as a whole, everything is linked together. We are one person, hes, but we are spirit, soul and body and all works together as one. Keep the faith, Matt, and trust the Lord entirely with everything you are going through. You do not have to carry all the weight, although i know this takes process, as i did too. But trust me, the only cure and solution there is is not left within ourselves, but in the Lord Jesus.

If you need to speak, just feel free to message me, and we can share this burden we have together. All is well, Matt. Everything is okay :)
