My panic attacks and over all anxiety is triggered by...thoughts of me going crazy but more specificly being schizophrenic. I have been told my 2 psychologists and a psychiatrist, as well as general physicians that I don't have schizophrenia. They've told me that I don't show any symptoms of it, and it's all just anxiety. But none the less the thought of it freaks me out. So I was wondering what other people have as fears or triggers. I know some people are scared of having a fatal disease and when you dwell on those thoughts it triggers anxiety, but what specificly are you scared of? And does anyone else of a fear of going crazy or sometimes feel like they're going crazy?

Yes Very much so. Just try believing them, you can always go back to questioning but just try it on and see how it feels. I had to do that with crazy. I was sure I was crazy and it took alot of convincing to accept that i am not. That was how I did it, try trusting that they are right, so if I'm not crazy then what am I? The eckhardt Tolle book can help with this "finding your inner purpose" This anxiety crud is bad enough without adding extra junk to it.  Its really pretty easy with schizophrania. If you don't have voices, not thoughts, that don't belong to you but  another force telling you to do something then you are not schizo. Also, those that have it don't know it. Hope that helps. It really is a trick of the mind, the journey is to learn to change thinking patterns.

i think everyone does that sometimes. I have whole films that run in my head of events that have happened and events that haven't. Currently my mind cant stop playing out how the dentist will go, that i will run out freak out pass out and definately suffer, so ya, that is not schizophrenia

I dont hear voices or have delusions. I also dont have any other symptoms but what i do that worries me is that i'm always thinking and i sometimes plan out conversations. For example, if i'm going to the doctor then i think about what i'm going to say and then i think about what the doctor will say back. And of course i think about what i will say to the doctor's response and so on.

yes  yes and yes

our fears are often unfounded.    There are lots of things we can do to get over anxiety.

For starters....when its bad---go for a walk or exercise     deep breathing is good.... meditation.....      try deep breathing.....in for 4 seconds and out for 8 seconds.      It helps !
