Anxiety can definitely cause digestive problems. However, it is best to see a dr. to first rule out any physiological cause. Your dr. can then recommend a treatment plan for your anxiety - which might involve talk therapy, diet/exercise, medication (anti-anxiety meds / antidepressants), or a combination of all three. I had severe irritable bowel symptoms associated with panic / anxiety, that are now under control with my current treatment (lexapro, xanax, therapy, and exercise).
Hope this helps..
Try therapy first. Meds last. They'll still be there.
Mjbrown basically gave you a good rundown of your options in my opinion. For me talk therapy worked the best combined with an SSRI. Some people like to go without medication, others do not; it is a personal choice and there are both pros and cons to each avenue of approach in my opinion.
