Nose Pain To Anxiety

I am having a nose pain and breathless feeling from about 3 years.I was diagnosed with Allergic Rhintis.I was given anti allergies, anti inflammatory, nasal sprays and other related medicines.I had a turbinate reduction surgey also.In these three years I have had consecutive Xrays,ct scans, mri and sinoscopy tests. All before and untill now rule out that anterior group of paranasal sinus is clear & swollen turbinates. The doctors say its nothing and only allergic inflammation as your sinus are clear and septum is a little bit right but there is no blockage or obstruction in your nose.Take anti allergy, anti inflammatory and nasal spray.I get a stretch in my nose all the time a suddenly the stretch changes into a pain. Some ENT doctors say thay it is due to inflammation some ENT say that this kind of pain can not happen in your situation as your sinus are clear only turbinates are swelled and we have given medicine for it and say that it is a nerve pain.I am really puzzled as I do not understand what is wrong. Why do I always feel a stretch in nose which in the end converts to pain. Some ENT say thay it's psychiatric I get anxiety due to constant worrying and due to it I feel breathless and impose a pain in nose which is not present there. The pain and stretch is mostly in the center of the nose the nose bridge.Anyone had any symptoms like these or can advice something?

The Psychiatrist has told me that its only anxiety not depression and has prescribed me the following medicines:

Zuloxet(Duloxetine HydrochlorideIntroduction)
Zeegab(Pregabalin)
Zedan(Roxithromycin)

I have a lot of anxiety I agree but what about the stretch in nose and pain in nose? what about swollen turbinates and allergy? I am afraid of taking anxiety medicines. Will these medicine work? will I get normal again?

It COULD very well be largely psychosomatic.  The mind is very powerful.  Have you tried to address this as partially being anxiety related?  That's really the most logical next step.  If there is a possibility that some of the symptoms and sensations are due to anxiety, it makes sense to seek some professional help.  In the very least, you admit to having anxiety as a result of worrying about the condition and the symptoms, so either way, anxiety treatment makes sense.

I would recommend asking your doc for a referral to a psychiatrist who can evaluate you and discuss treatment options.  Therapy is almost always a must, and medication may be discussed as well.  Personally, I think medications are indicated in situations where there is a pretty long history of anxiety, and/or where the symptoms of anxiety are pretty severe, and affecting one's life.  Both of those apply to you to some degree.  There are many treatment options, a psychiatrist will discuss with you what makes sense for YOU individually.

I would definitely recommend seeking out a professional to help you address the anxiety, and go from there.  Obviously, if a large portion of this is anxiety induced/related, then once you begin to treat the anxiety and see improvements, the other symptoms should folow suit as well.

Best of luck, keep in touch, and let us know how you're doing!
