Not feeling to good..

I have been doing pretty good, I have been off of lexapro for a while now but sometimes Im not sure if I should have stopped. The other night I had a Horrible anxiety attack, I was about to jump in my car and rush to the hospital. I was watching teen choice awards with my daughter..fun right...lol The only thing different is my back is flared up. Not sure what I did, I slipped a disc a few months ago and I think its worse now. I also Love being outside, its like the sun just makes me feel so much better, but with it been this hot its hard to stay out. Long story short I just feel crappy, dont wanna do anything, energy level is low, and just not happy. So with this injury and not able to go outside much, could that be whats wrong with me? I also feel like everythings foggy :-(

Thankyou for responding! Lexapro did help, I was on it for a long time and it worked great, then over time it was like hours after I had taken it my heart really felt like it hurt. I went to the doctor and sure enough I had high blood pressure. She thought it was just a fluke bc I had always had perfect vitals. Was very healthy, physical came back great. Well it got to the point where I felt soo tired all the time, hbp and really felt like it was lexapro and so the doc helped me come off. I have done great, bp went completly back to normal. Felt very rested, heart stopped hurting. But I did try most anti-depressants out there and had bad results. SO what do I do????But my hours are picking back up Friday and I think maybe working more might help my mind. I will be to tired to think or feel bad..lol

Hi again!

I can't recall...how long have you been off the Lexapro?  It's pretty common to have rebound anxiety and depression after d/c'ing these kinds of meds.

Have you possibly reconsidered trying a med again?  What was the reason you went off in the first place?  And, was the Lexapro helping?  Tried any therapy?

These kinds of bad days stink...they just throw us into a tizzy and it's hard to get ourselves back to baseline again.  Then, of course we worry even more after an attack.

My advice to you would be...if the Lexapro helped, then why not discuss with your doc restarting it again?  Or trying a different med?  There is no shame in needing a med to help control our anxiety symptoms.  So many people have such a hang up about "needing" a med for something like that.  But, who wants to suffer?  Meds have given me "me" back many times!

Hang in there...keep us updated!
