Not sleeping with Cymbalta

Hi out there to anyone up at 4 in the morning due to insomnia. I have only been taking Cymbalta for 6 days and since day one can not sleep AT ALL at night and having trouble with fast heart beat. Wondering if I can just quit cold turkey since I haven't been taking it for long......

I would never recommend quitting cold turkey at all. No matter what the dosage, no matter what the drug. Been there, done that and all it did was screw with me for 2 weeks or more. Night sweats, felt like I was going crazy, nausea, dizziness, confusion. I learned the hard way.

What dosage are you on with Cymbalta? Mine is 60mg and for the first week I had to take the capsule, open it and pour it into a cup of apple juice, mix it around, then drink half of the apple juice. This was so I'd build my body up to the full 60mg, but through 30mg over a week's time. I had no side effects by doing that. Yes I have insomnia but I've always had that so I cannot say whether or not Cymbalta is a cause of that.

If you started off taking 60mg right away, you're body is going through a bit of shock right now. Talk with your doctor before doing anything in regards to stopping Cymbalta, or any medication cold turkey.

Hi I just stopped it on Monday due to that I was shaking and moved all night long.  I took it for a 1 week and 2 days and stopped it.  So I would say to not take it as of today.  I'm no expert but from my experience that is what I did.  Then go and speak with your doctor.
