Other symptoms of anxiety

Hello. I want to ask if shortness of breath could be caused by anxiety if it lasts not only during an episode but rather few hours or even whole day? I also feel severe shortness of breath, chest tightness and unable to breath deeply when I wake up every morning, but no apparent reason is still found and I had quite a few heart and lung tests. My pulse is changing from 80 to 110 during the day. I suffer from insomnia all the time. Could it possibly be an anxiety disorder?

Hey

From what you have narrated on your case it seems to me like it's anxiety. You mentioned that you already had lung and heart check but no reason was found to cause your breathing problems. Therefore the only conclusion is that this breathing problems aren't caused by something physical rather it seems to be mental or psychological.

I would recommend that you consult a mental health care expert and get diagnosed. It would be better if you get assurance from someone who can assess you personally.

If you are diagnosed with anxiety issues here are some treatment measures you can consider. Medications and counseling therapy are your obvious choices but you can also try herbal tea like chamomile, kava, and L-theanine. There are also nutritional supplements. Endoca hemp products and 5-HTP are proven supplements that are great in alleviating anxiey.

There are also some self-help methods that I urge you to start doing now. This includes meditation, music therapy, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness programs. I also encourage you to join support groups. I hope you get better soon. :)

I always wake up at 6 am every from chest pressure, fast heartbeat and shortness of breath. After one hour everything gets better an I'm able to get back to sleep for another few hours. Could it really be anxiety or more similar to heart/nervous/endocrine system problem??

I no what you mean, 6 years ago I had some awful symptoms and I had to come back home from a holiday and go to a&e he told me it was anxiety, and I couldn't believe it! The way I had been feeling all day for weeks and it's anxiety?! From then I've had my ups and downs, I got a little better with cbt 4 years ago but after a rough couple of years it's got worse! I get a symptom and I find myself being on edge, constantly worried, visiting my gp numerous times.the way it makes us feel is terrible and my doctor said I've got so used to being this way that it just comes without me even thinking of it so I need to change the way I'm thinking, but it's hard and a struggle, I need more help/therapy

Yes, I am woried. I always feel chest pressure and have feast and weak heartbeat. When I wake up I feel my heart pounding.  I was sent for further tests by by doctor, but she said this could be anxiety. For me, it looks like these symptoms makes me worried and not other way around, but I'm not so sure anymore...

Do you worry about things/symptoms? It could well be anxiety, I experience this feeling everyday, it scares me! Has your doctor diagnosed you with anxiety? Anxiety can also cause insomnia, I often have trouble going to sleep or I wake up numerous times and can't get back to sleep
