I hope you feel great for the wedding. That is great that your son is getting married. I take Buspar I only take one in the morning and I don't really want to up it if I don't have to. Work today was terrible. Felt like I was in a boat all day long. I am just about fed up with it really. It's taking control of my life. Do you feel this way? I really hope you have a great rest of the day and Anxiety if on the low side.

Hi and thanks for the reply. I had a 99% blocked artery and it was my main artery (Aorta) I hear ya with how your anxiety comes on. I can be find one minute than the next be panicking thinking that I am going to pass out or fall over. It's strange it's not like a dizzy feeling it's more like rocking in a boat feeling (off balance) I hope you feel better soon and that we can somehow kick this problem

I'm sorry you're going through this.  Anxiety is very hard!  You're in a great forum, and it's great you're reaching out for help.

First of all, practice some slow deep breathing: slow deep breaths into your belly.  Focus on holding your exhale.  Anxiety can be escalated by an imbalance oxygen and CO2.  Good breathing will do 2 things - help that imbalance, and give you something to concentrate on.

Distract yourself.  Call someone & talk it out.  Put on a workout dvd, or go for a run/walk.  Put on some music, dance it out.  Physical activity can help burn off the nervous energy as well as dump good endorphins into your body.  Drink plenty of water - avoid sugary drinks or caffeine.

Try not to fight the anxiety - acknowledge it.  Self-talk your way through it.  A technique my therapist taught me: "it's just anxiety.  It *****, but it's not going to kill me.  It's going to be okay."

I highly recommend seeing a psychologist or therapist.  Mine has been invaluable in helping me with other self-care techniques.  I'm sorry you haven't had a good experience with medication.  That can be really frustrating and frightening.  There are a lot of medications out there.  I had a bad experience with one, but am doing well with a couple others.  Have an open conversation with your doctor about what you're experiencing.

Hang in there - just take things one at a time.

I have the same problem. I feel like I am going to die sometimes. I had a heart attack in 2009 at 35 years old and since then I have this panic attacks. I went to the doctors so many times incase it was my heart but my  heart seems to be working well and that is not it. I am constantly thinking the worse. I have a heavy head  feeling loss of balance and dizzyness you name it it is there. I am willing to talk to anyone about this. Sometimes it helps to hear others who have the same problem kind of makes you feel like you are not nuts.

have you tried Ativan just when you need it it will calm the attacks, or klonopin, I took it with no side affects, sorry your going threw this I know its not easy as I am now feeling some myself with the not myself feeling, dizzy but not really dizzy hard to explain, . try taking deep breaths threw your nose and blowing it out yourmouth real slow feel the anxiety leaving the body, I try that and it works sometimes .
