Getting On Lexapro

Trying To Start Lexapro Again For Anxiety.
Increases The Anxiety,Is It Possible To Get On This Med Without Using Benzos?

Thanks Paxiled. Seems i'm stuck,cant stand the start up side effects and am afraid of the benzos

Thanks Jackie!  were you taking these foir anxiety?,surprised the xanax did not help. for some reason Lexapro makes the anxiety worse,been told it will get better with time but i just can't tolerate it.

Sure, just wait it out and if it continues to increase anxiety it's not the right drug for you.  Nobody says you have to get better right this instant, which is what benzos are for, when you need to be better right now.  But if you do opt for a benzo, follow the above advice and only take it when absolutely necessary so it doesn't become a problem to stop taking.

I was prescribed Lexapro (daily basis) and Alprozolam (Xanax) on an "as needed" basis. So the way I see it, you dont need to take the benzo unless the anxiety gets overwhelming, just hold on and wait for the Lexapro to take effect. Personally neither medicine did absolutely nothing for me, even after a month. So, I am not a big advocate for the effects of Lexapro, to me it's like sugar pills. I have currently started Prozac....still waiting on results.
