Pregnancy & medications

I had been taking Xanax and Lorazepan as needed before pregnancy but stopped after I found out I was pregnant- I recently suffered a severe panic attack and took both just to calm down, I took the pills again once more becuase of a mild attack.  I did not know that the medications were class D until I told my doctor, I am 34 weeks pregnany and took them about 2 weeks ago.  I have been reading online and am so scared that I put my baby in danger.  I am not taking the medication and will not again, any reasurances?

Hello.....
I am not pregnant. I do however suffer from Generalized anxiety disorder/panic attacks. I want to become pregnant, but due to the fact that I am on about 4-6mg of xanax daily..(xanax is a class D) I have not tried to conceive. I belong to a website that I will post for you to read. The ladies on it have all taken Xanax, Lorazapam, Antidepressants, or mood stabilizers during pregnancy. Their babies have been just fine.........that forum has been a blessing for me, it gives me the reasurance that I can get pregnant, and that my disorder will not keep me from experiencing motherhood. My obgyn knows about my disorder and about my plans on soon trying to conceive, she also knows about the xanax. She did say that she sees pregnant women on meds all the time. It is just a matter of the benefits outweighing the risk. She did not try to discourage me from becomong pregnant, but did refer me to a doctor that can maybe help me taper down on the xanax (taper down only....not off xanax), or maybe give me a longer acting benzo. I will post the website for you to check out, I hope it gives you some reasurance.
