Thank each and every one of you for taking the time to give your thoughts and opinions on this. I can't express how much I appreciate your input.
I also took an AD (Prozac) during one of my pregnancies with no problems. This is a unique and personal decision that every woman in this situation must make for herself. It's best to weigh the pros and cons with your doctor...both your p-doc (or whomever Rx's the Zoloft) and your OB. There are some AD's that are considered "safer" than others during pregnancy, which is something you would need to discuss with your doc early on. Zoloft has a pretty good reputation in this scenario.
You have an advantage in that you're NOT pregnant yet, so you can plan a little more ahead of time rather than some of us who found out we were expecting after being on a med already.
Personally, for me, I feel it was the right decision, but again, everyone is different and needs to make that choice for themselves after discussions with their docs and partner.
I took a very small dose all through my pregnancy. No effect on my child. The RE's office told me it is not researched fully during pregnancy, but they had seen a lot of Zoloft pregnancies and they were not concerned that I was taking it. Admittedly, it was a small dose -- I was breaking their little pills into halves and taking one every other day.
i took it except the first 3 months no problems
