Prescribed New Meds... Anyone familiar with these?

My doctor just prescibed me 2 medications that im not familiar with. I currently take Suboxone for my drug addiction. Would like to know if any of you have heard of these or have taken them and can give some input. The new meds are as follows..
1) Fluoxetine- Generic for Prozac. Taking for depression and mood stabilizing as well as lack of energy. Doctor said it should give an energy boost and does not cause weight gain which I was concerned about. She has me on (2) 10MG Capsules once daily.

2) Doxepin- Taking for anxiety and for sleep as well. Doc has me on 2 differnet dosages daily. (1) 10MG Capsule 2x a day as need for anxiety.  & Take (1-2) 25MG capsules every night at bedtime. I asked for a medication that wouldnt knock me out to the point where I wont hear my children or wake up in the morning with a hangover feeling. She said this chosen medication will actually make you feel refreshed when you wake in the morning.

So, Have any of you taken any of these two meds? Just want some input before I start taking them. Thank You!!!

Thank you for your response. When I say "not gain weight" I know that you cant be told that it definitely wont make you gain weight. My doctor says its had the least complaints of weight gain as a side effect. As to where Zoloft has had many complaints of weight gain. Like I said before.. Zoloft put a massive amount of weight on me. My daughter also has gained 70 lbs from it and was recently swithced to something else. I figured it was just me that my daughter wouldnt be affected the way I was from it. But I was wrong. I started taking the Prozac yesterday.. took the second dose this morning. We shall see. Thank you so much for you advice and input. Its appreciated.

Prozac is a more stimulating antidepressant than Zoloft, as such it tends to not be as effective as Zoloft and other ssris for anxiety generally, but you may respond differently.  If it works, it's a good one to be on, as it's the easiest to stop taking as it lasts a lot longer in the body and therefore gives the body time to adjust if you stop taking it.  But nobody can tell you if you'll gain weight on it -- everyone is different, so only trying it will tell you that.  Good luck.

Thank you for responding. I was really concerned about the weight gain.. I was on Zoloft and gained 60+ pounds from it. I finally lost all of it plus a few pounds extra. So my doc said weight gain was not a common side effect from the Prozac.

I would take the Prozac in 1 ----- 20mg dose  . and yes like any med it  can put weight on, if it does change it.
