Propranolol and lexapro

I have been on 10 mg of propranolol 2x a day for 3 months for (POTS) Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia and I have a anxiety disorder that has been totally out of control again. My doctor wants me to go on 10mg lexapro I am very afraid of medication and was wondering whats the best time to take this medication morning or night and can you take these two together. Also does Beta blocker cause heart failure that has been my biggest worry why i'm having so much anxiety everyday I need some clarity.

I was taking 20mg of Propanolol 2 x a day along with lexapro for many years and did great.  I still take the propanolol but now with citolopran.  I took the lexapro in the am with 1 propanolol and one  propanolol pm.  Still the same on the citolopran.

It can take up to six weeks for you to get the full benefit of an antidepressant, in the meantime you may feel anxious or panicky.  But if at 6 weeks you are not doing any better be sure to let your doctor know this.  They normally start you out on the lowest dosage, then want to see you back in 6-8 weeks to see how you are doing anyway.  Usually an increase in the dosage is needed, so if this happens, don't let it scare you, it's very typical.  Stay with the medication, it worked wonders for me.  Take care...
