Question about a simpsons episode (has to do with anxiety)

Does anyone here watch the Simpsons? Anyone of you remember an episode where Homer apparently was having some type of anger issues and the doctor told him, that if he continues getting angry, something will happen to him???
Well, Bart loved the idea of Homer not being able to get angry at him so he did everything he wanted for a while without Homer sayng anything, as he did his best to ignore him...But the more Bart pissed off Homer, the more angrier and stressed he became and little by little he started to get knots/bumps/lumps on his head and neck. All because of the inner-anger/stress he had because of the stuff Bart was doing, and untill he finally couldn't take it anymore and started to strangle Bart, all the bumps started to disappear, little by little...

Anyone remember this episode? For me it's one of the most memorable episodes from The Simpsons, and I saw this long before I had any of my crappy symptoms.

Now, the question is...Is it possible?:DDD I mean, to get stress-knots/bumps, whatever they are called in your head and neck? Mainreason Im asking, is that I remember talking about this with a familymember of mine and laughing my *** off...But now, I found a damn bump in my neck and Im worried about it. (it moves around a little bit, so it's not hard.) My familymember instantly said: "HOMER!!!" I tried looking it up on the internet with the searchword "Stress knot", but nah, didn't find anything.......

I have another lump in the back of my ear, wich is hard. Making me worried...Like I wouldn't have enough already!!!! I know stress can cause a lot, but seriously...To this extent?

I am having those symptoms but I wonder if it is anxiety. Its got me scared. I have lumps all over my head. They feel sore like somebody punched me (I was in alot of fights as a teenager and that is exactly what it feels like just not quite as sore, but still a little sore when touched). I dont have anything on my neck so Im sure its not lymph nodes. They are like large bumps like a bruise type but small parts of them really sting when touched almost like acne..like its the tip of the bump or something. I have them on my head (all areas) and they seem to come and go for the past 2 months.

You may want to consider going to a dermatologist, it almost sounds like hydrodenitis, try to destress as much as possible and make an appt with a professional as soon as you can.

Could it be knots? I get knots in my neck, shoulders, back........tight muscles from stress. Getting a massage can really help, and hot baths........not sure that's what it is for you though. Try looking up a site on massage or chiropractic stuff for more info on it.

It's too funny that you brought up the Simpsons!  My favorite episode is one where Homer is remarking on reality television shows and tells someone "If I wanted a dose of reality I'd go get this lump on my neck checked out!"  :-P  It made me think of myself because I too have a slightly enlarged lymph node in my neck just under my jaw line from and impacted wisdom tooth I had that had become infected.  My docs tell me that it will likely remain enlarged and not to worry about it, and when I mess with it alot it does get bigger, but when I leave it alone it goes back down to "normal".  Thanks for the laugh and I hope this helps you!

and be careful, because the more you feel for them, the more they become inflammed, it is kind of a rebound affect.  i was told this by a doctor too.

I love the Simpsons and had seen that episode!! You are probably feeling lymph nodes. Mine are kind of big, so I can feel them all of the time. I used to get freaked out over them too. Then I figured something out...I would go up to my husband and pretend like I was rubbing his neck- but I was really checking for lumps!!!! I found them on the side of my neck and on the backside. I also have hard bumps behind my ears- I think that is part of the structure. Anyway, with the nodes, anytime you have any type of infection - including pimples near the area, I think they become slightly enlarged. I notice them more when I am broken out. So, I dont think it is stress knots- I have never heard of a person having them, but I guess that doesnt mean they dont exist!!!
