Racing heart

Hi...i am 22 years old and new to this forum. I am suffering from a very weird problem.while sleeping in the middle of my sleep i feel that my heart is beating very fast and its races up to an extent that i wake up in the middle of night at the same time i feel tickling in my head.It seems that there is some connection between that racing heart and that tickeling because it also stops when i wake up.it feels that there is some nerve in my head and it is shaking very fast and if i'll not get up then my head will burst or i'll get a heart attack.I am really frustrated.i went to a doctor and he has given me sleeping pills bit i guess this is not the solution.Am i suffering from some serious disease?I had my ECG done and its report wad normal.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. It feels better when u see that you are not alone suffering from this weird thing but there are many other people as well andddddd they are alive.so i guess that this anxiety is cureble and not llfe taking.I have started doing meditation..yoga and all and it helps me to relax.I feel this racing heart thing since last year but since last 3 months i was not getting this feeling so was quite happy as i don't wanna get addicted to these harmful meds but suddenly this racing heart feeling has come back.

Im 22 and I also wake up with the same thing, ive actually thought i was having a heart attack. Ive had anxiety for years, but when I started waking up from it at night made me realize how serious of a problem it is. My doctor put me on prozac and xanax. Now that Ive been on the prozac for almost a month its beginning to make my anxiety worse, to the point of not leaving the house. Now every drug works different for everyone, so talk to your doctor because prozac could work for you. I would recomend xanax because that is the only thing that helps me leave the house, or calms my heart, but I dont really like it because I feel like ive become dependant on it, which ISNT good, but its the only thing that seems to help with my anxiety... hope you get it figured out because no one should feel like that!

I wake with the same thing. It feels like my heart is going to explode out of the chest. My doc gave me klonopin to help me sleep. Three days in and it seems a little better. Keep talked to your doctor, find something to help you!
