Sleeping Problems and Anxiety

I have had a very hard time falling asleep and staying asleep.  I was perscirbed two ativan for sleep and I still cannot sleep.  I called my pharmacist and asked if i could take an over the counter sleeping aid with the ativan and she said yes. So about a week ago i started taking tylenol pm right before sleep. Within i would say ten min i am sleeping and i sleep through the night execpt for going to the rest room.  Does anyone else to this?  It really helps me Im  just wondering if it is okay to do this for the long haul, I know when I stop taking the tylenol pms I am not going to be able to sleep again.  Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

ask ur docky to put you on vistreal..its a histamine base..its mostly used for anxietys and to sedate you to sleep..i been using them since the 90,s not everyday though..im on xanax also..the to together will sedate you real well..and it only takes 30-60 min to feel it..im on the 50 mgs up to 3 aday..but if i take 1 i only need 1 at bedtime..our bodys seem to slow down at night or when the sun goes down..another good one is melatonin..its 3mgs 1 45min before bedtime..i never Had 1 before ive got them just havent tried it yet..but you can get those anywere, like cvs,walmart,meijers..the tylonols pm,s you have to watch out for..the have acetaminophen in them that can cause liver problems after 4000 mgs in a 24 hr period..they have the dipehydamine in them so find anything thats got that in it like a sleep aid  sominex or something close..eat a balance diet also..and exercise 4 hrs prior to bedtime..the atavains i thoufght made you tired..i took one 1 time it made me very sleepy..i been on klonpin for 13 yrs..and on xanax now..just the xanax alone..its ok but dont make you tired..it will for awile but if ur on avians and taking a sleep aid you should do ok..TRY TO GET THOSE  VISTREL,S HAS I STARED WITH YOU...THEY WORK GOOD.........POST ANYTIME...GOOD LUCK TOO YOU..

You need to ask your doctor but L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that is nessary for the prodution of Vitamin B3. Its is used by the brain to produce serotonin, a necessary neurotransmitter that transfers nerver impulses from one cell to another and is responsible for normal sleep. It also helps with depression and helps stabilize mood.

Tolerance to ativan when taken regularly builds fairly rapidly.  Ativan is best used as needed or for a short period of time.  Ask your Doc about replacing the Ativan with Klonopin  if you need to keep using a benzo.  The ingredient in Tylenol PM causing drowsines is an antihistamine.  You can get these much more cheaply than in Tylenol PM.  Antihistamines tend to dry you out a bit and cause just the opposite of diarhea (as you discovered). Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is probably the most popular.

The Tylenol pm will soon stop working and used to often will give you diaherra. The ativan is very addictive.
