Songs for stress

I just thought Id start a thread and invite everyone to add their own favorite video links to songs
that help them relieve stress and or make them feel good. The song I want to share is a family favorite here in our household for 'BAD' days when the world just seems crazy and you feel like
your about to snap..... the kids and I sing it LOUDLY (we are normally easy listening type people but this is HEAVY metal) called 'Let the bodies hit the floor" by drowning pool. Awsome song for bad days like I said.

Great Idea!

I would love to post a link to my fav song for bad days but we don't have high speed dial-up and have trouble watching streaming videos on our computer.  Maybe you can look them up!  Two songs by Van Morrison "Into the Mystic" and "Brown Eyed Girl".  I also listen to Green Day's "Good Riddance" when I'm missing my Daddy.  I played that song at his funeral...

Let the Bodies Hit the Floor is a Family Favorite of ours too!  We also love Stained (Outside), Nickleback (Never Again), and Papa Roach(Cut My Life Into Pieces).  All good groups for "letting it all out"  :-)

Take Care

Cori---Nicklebacks "Never Again" is another excellent song.  Great for turning up LOUD!

I'm afraid I don't have a clue on how to post a link for someone else to listen too, but will come back with some favorites of my own.....got to run for now....

I have so many, but will list a few...

By the way, Jennifer375, I can't belive you mentioned Drowning Pool! I am a metal and hard rock guy all the way and LOVE this song and another called Sinner. I wouldn't call them stress relievers per se, but it depends on your mind set, if you get really into them, sing, dance, whatever, they can release a lot of energy...too bad the lead singer passed away at such a young age (and no, it was not from drugs or alcohol). I am always torn though, being a Christian and all, the lyrics to this are not in line with my beliefs, but I have always been more of a "music" lover as opposed to a "lyrics" lover.

The Sinners URL is :http://youtube.com/watch?v=f_0Vzep9aoY

Anyhow, back to the matter at hand, relaxing and feel good songs.

I absolutely LOVE Ben Harper - much of his music is very good and the message in them all are very good ones.

The first on my list is off his album entitled "Welcome to the Cruel World" (That entire album is one of my top 10). This one is instrumental, unlike the rest of his songs, but it has so much feeling that it needs no lyrics. It is called the three of us:

Also, I like Jack Johnson's Flake:

This is a live version, which doesn't produce the best "sound" as the orginal, which is much better, but Ben Harper's playing of the Weisenborn (at the end) is awesome. I LOVE that instrument. I play regular guitar and would love to learn to play this someday.

Another one that I think is fun is by a newer band with a bit of a different style... They are called Family Force 5 and the song is Love Addict:

Those are just a few. I have many more, but no time to share right now...I will do so later.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the suggestions Mike.  I think I've become a Drowning Pool fan!

I am also more of a "music" lover and don't pay attention to the lyrics so much.

THAT is hilarious. Thanks for sharing it. Not ever watched Benny Hinn before (although I have heard of him); however, being a Christian myself, I am not sure all that is not much more than the WWF of the Church. He seems to be the heavy-weight champion!

Here is another Ben Harper song that is fun: It is called Mama's Got A Girlfriend

When I was undegoing treatment for anxiety many moons ago, "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" was on the top-40 and I would listen and sing to it as I drove to the shrink's office. The lyrics are very uplifting and always worth a listen. I still get a special feeling when I hear it.

What a great post! Much better than my stuff (cough, cough).

Kinda hard to beat "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head." (cough, cough)

I've been thinking about this post since I read it yesterday. Music plays such a huge part in my life, I just couldn't chose ONE song...............but this morning, I stuck a CD in while I was waiting to wake up and I could hardly believe my ears! There was the song that I would sing to myself when the panic had me by the throat! It's by the "Bodeans," a group probably nobody has ever heard of except me. I'd add a link to it, but I have a phobia about links........

The one line that I would sing over and over goes:

"OUT ON THE ROAD THAT LIES BEFORE ME NOW
THERE ARE SOME TURNS WHERE I WILL SPIN
I ONLY HOPE THAT YOU CAN HOLD ME DOWN
TILL I CAN GAIN CONTROL AGAIN"

Perhaps not as perky as "Raindrops," but to each his own, eh?
Greenlydia

P.S.
Fun idea Jenn! Kudos

Another point I forgot to make was that smooth jazz ALWAYS relaxes me. And you may think (by seeing my pictures) that I would be the last person who listens to jazz. To be honest, I do not have a single jazz CD; however, there are days when my wife and I are just laying on the bed and I will turn the radio to NPR and there are these SONGS these very RELAXING songs by people I have never heard of. They are so easy to  meditate and relax to. You should all try it if you have not before.

I like the song "Don't Worry, Be Happy"  Also love the "Raindrops on my Head song".  Sometimes I'm so anxious that someone told me about a song about anxiety called "Wildflower - the part about "Sleep's the only freedom that she knows".  Those are for the days when I have anxiety the whole day and can't wait for sleep (pretty pathetic I know).
