Have you tried therapy first? Fifteen is very young for these meds.
Hi, there - first of all, welcome to the forum! There are lots of folks on here with many different experiences. Some have found success with medication, others with therapy, some with self-care techniques, and some with any combination of the above. The important thing is it sounds as if you are taking the steps you need to get help - good for you!!
Because we're all different, I can only tell you what my experience has been with my meds. You're a different person at a different place in life, so your experience may be different. I take zoloft and xanax right now. I did experience some side effects when I started on the zoloft, but after a couple of months those have disappeared. I also see a psychologist for therapy sessions, try to exercise regularly, eat well, and drink plenty of water. I've got a great network of family and close friends that I reach out to when I need to.
As far as what to expect or watch for, it depends on the medication. Be sure to talk to your doctor about questions you have. He/she should explain any side effects you may experience, and what to do (some we just need to ride out, others may mean this isn't the med for you).
Keep us posted, and best wishes!
