I can't believe I found people that actually have this. I'm currently 14 and I didn't have it for a while now. When I was younger it happened many times in a couple of months and then now it's been happening only few. The surroundings become very intense sometimes slowly for me and whenever I try to say somethig or hear somethig not has a new different sense of .... I don't know how to describe it. the words become very intense, I start feeling very weird and then it all stops and comes back to reality . It's like someone kept pressing the pause and I pause button every second
THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO!!! When I was younger about 5-9 years old I'd get them every now and then I would be sleeping and then all the sudden wake up and everything is super loud even my TV wasn't on it would sound like it was, and I remember one time I was in my parents bedroom and my dad was playing the PlayStation and I started hearing it and he turned it off and everything and it still sounded loud. Can any doctors explain this????? I want to know what this is badly

So, this is totally weird! I didn't know that there was other people out there who experienced the same thing I experience VERY often.. That's the only thing that makes me different than anyone else who has posted on here. My episodes happen usually once-twice a month, sometimes even three times a month. And they're very intense, to the point where I can't move my body.. I'm just motionless, and all I can do is move my eyes, and breath, and hope that it will pass fast. I usually experience loud, intensified surrounding sounds (like a train, only it sounds like its passing right past my ear), yelling-like thoughts inside my head (cursing uncontrollably inside my thoughts, repetitive verses) and sometimes even hyperventilating. I had actually just experienced one about an hour ago, and luckily, my best guy friend was awake and I texted him to tell him to call me and calm me down, and within 10 mins or so, I was done my episode.. All of this frequentcy had only really started around the time I had started my job about 7 months ago... I hadn't had a job in 2-sum years, and maybe I'm just stressed and not used to having a responsibility of my own? Who knows! At 21 years old, I was hoping these things would subside or just never come back.. Guess not haha. They're so scary! Say, has anyone found out what the cause of them is, or what it could be? Thanks guys!
I can't believe I found this post! I didn't even know how to search Google for it. . I know the Internet is amazing but I thought I may have stumped it. I am glad I I was wrong. I have been having these same episodes my whole life I am 37 now and they are less frequent but happened last night when I went to bed. Everyone here has described what it is like very well so I will spare repeating the experience with one exception, I don't see many of you describing what I feel when it first starts which is the very hard to explain feeling in my hands/body like my bones become very thin pieces of cold metal and then for brief flashing moments will feel soft and puffy then right back to thin cold metal. I read someone else here describing it as fingers feeling like tooth picks. I would like an explanation, what else do we all have in common that might be related? I am hyperactive, extroverted, left handed, extremely right brain creative, high metabolism, artistic. I don't do drugs and have ZERO health issues. WTF is this thing?!!!! What are the rest of you like?
Does anyone know what this is yet?? Got it when I was a kid but not so much anymore, im 29 now my son also has it now and has been getting it since he was about 6 he's 9 now.. It's weird but I stop mine by putting a cold wet cloth on my head this also works for my son..
ive had about the same feeling for a few years now, im 19 now, 20 in 4 days. when im sitting in a quiet room everything does feel speed up, but in my head it sounds/feels like someone is screaming at me to hurry up. my hands also get sweaty.i was talking to my girlfriend, she thinks it could be anxiety. ive also noticed that this happens more often when its dark. idk if thats just a coincidence, but its just what i have noticed. also idk exactly what this forum is for, but i thought it was to help give you help on finding out whats wrong with you. 123que, your post of the same topic on the neurological community, everyone just posts there agreence with you. was hoping someone could auctually give a non-offical "diagnosis". or help me in the right direction of to what is going on.
I just had the exact same feeling 2 minutes ago. I also have it once every few months and I first had it when i was about 13, ill in bed. How did you do on ? What could help me? This topic was like written by myself, haha.
