Terrified

I am a 30 yr old male and have smoked for 10 years.  I haven't smoked in the last one and a half years though.  I wasn't a major smoker either...probably about a pack/week.  I've also been a constant worrier that something has been wrong with me for about the last 7 or so years now. I've been to the doctors, got all the blood work done and everything came back fine.  He said I was perfectly healthy and I must be sufferring from anxiety.  I looked at him like he was crazy because I have all these physical symptoms such as headaches, blurred vision, constant muscle tension, shortness of breath after small exhertion, etc.  But I said ok and left after he assured me nothing was wrong.  He also asked if I wanted to see a mental health person, and I denied the opportunity.  Now, I have this lump that is actually inside my cheek.  I can't feel the lump unless I put one finger on the outside of my cheek and one inside my cheek and feel for it, then I can feel it kind of move around a little bit.  I feels hard a little bit and kind of squishy at the same time.  I don't know what else it could be except some form of oral cancer.  I freak out about stuff like this.  I have a few missing teeth that weren't taking care of right because I had deep root canals done on them but never got a crown put on them so they broke off.  They bleed a little bit sometimes and so that is another reason why i thought i have cancer.  can someone please help me and let me know what they think it could be?  this "lump" is inside of my left cheek.  I also have this white patch from time to time and the doctor says it's from my teeth missing there.it's kind of believeable, but then ofcourse I start to worry about it.  I hate feeling like this and I've felt like this for the last 7 years almost every day.  IT ***** and it seems so debilitationg...

my muscles ache all the time check my posts out my legs are the worst i am on anti immflamorty tablets for it it is pulled muscles where i strain them when i am stress, you might not be doing anything to srenuious but when you tense your whole body tenses up hense the muscle aches,my heart used to pound just like yours my head used to hurt so bad my breathing was a mess my vision was very poor always feeling dizzy, sick weak, cry alot never could sleep or eat lost a whole load of weight, pins and needles in my fingers numb hands, the works and all my tests come back clear, when we put things in our head we convince ourselves it the worst case, but honest you have to face up to what changes has happened in your life good and bad, deal with them, because until u do these issues will be ten times worse,if you cant do it alone speak to your doctor about a councillor and meds, but i am always here to answer any questions you want to ask.

There was a couple of things that I guess could have triggered it I guess.  I was getting out of the military at the time with no plan yet, my daughter was burned in an accident while I was at home, I had this severe heart pounding where I thought I was about to die...I can explain it like impendning doom or something like that...I did some things in the military I shouldn't have that made me think I had an STD for the longest time but I was too worried to get it checked out until about 3 months ago and everything came back clean.  My other question is I have persistent muscle strain.  I get up in the morning and my calf hurts to even walk, my bicep hurts when I move my arm sometimes...and I didn't do anything to strain these muscles the day before.  My eyes are really super sensitive to the sun...just all kinds of things.  My teeth are messed up from the military and I went to the dentist before I found this lump in my cheek and it costs about 15,000 dollars to get them fixed.  I worry about my health all the time though...are you sure this is a major sign of anxiety????

Your bleeding gums may be gingivitis.  Go to the dentist get a good cleaning, and then keep your gums and teeth healthy to prevent this from happening.  While you're there get his opinion on the lump you are feeling so you can put this worry to rest.  Fear feeds anxiety and just makes it worse.  Your doctor has given you a clean bill of health and for those of us with anxiety "accepting" this is key to getting better.  Anxiety definitely can cause all your other symptoms, so maybe it's time to take your doctor's advice and get help with your anxiety.  We all have, and it gave me my life back.  This is a great forum for support and to exchange stories as we learn a thing or two along the way.  Take care.

the bleeding in your gums could be a gum disease you should go and get it checked, you may need a course of antibiotics to clear it the lump is prob through the missing teeth, the rest of your symptoms are def due to anxiety ,you are getting yourself into a right state thinking the worst all the time maybe you should go back to your doctors and speak to him again about getting help with this, you say this has been going on for 7 years, did anything happen to start all this panic off?
