This can't be anxiety >:(((

I have attacks where my chest hurts and it's hard to breath along with my neck feeling stiff, I hate it, I have to take a deep breath every second or it feels like I'm going to die and go crazy. I have this for days the thing is I'm not even having anxiety when this all happens, on top of that the doctors are always quick to call it anxiety. is this really anxiety or something else?

I dont know if this is the best advice, but Doctors can be wrong yes, but the thing is, most people who experience heart problems or some serious illness (as you feel you have) the chances for a doctor to find them are high! Doctors very rarely miss something that serious.
Plus, it's been coming and going and you're still here honey!!!! Most of us "panickers" are so scared of dying, or something going wrong, yet we dont go to the hospital all the time, or we try and calm down, or we dont take meds.... I sometimes think it's because in the back of our heads... we know were really not crazy... or we're really not dying... we just feel that for that moment.... like.."What if this is it? what if this is the one that Im going to die..?"

We're all in this together, and I hope you only get better!! Don't diagnose yourself through google...
Go read up on anxiety and all those symptoms and I think you'll feel alot better.
It's been said.. NO ONE HAS EVER DIED from anxiety..

I am the same way.  I need a constant reminder that it is just anxiety.  Everytime I start to feel that way again, I think this time it's different.  It's something much worse.  It's a vicious cycle.

Thanks everyone, yes those other things have been ruled out.  It's just a scary sensation, I have come to terms with it several times, but it always is hard to deal with.

I agree with the other posters. If you have been cleared by your doctors then it certainly is an anxiety state.Your post goes right to the root of the problem we all face.We suffer more because of the innability to accept that we have an emotional problem rather than a physical one.Anxiety can mimic any illness in the book.Accepting this is the key to recovery.Regards,
Dimi.

The tight chest and hard to breathe feeling can be anxiety. You should have all the appropriate medical checks - eg ekg etc.- first, and then start addressing the anxiety. You don't have to be in a stressful situation or 'feeling' anxious to start a panic or anxiety attack. You need to think if there is any underlying stress issues in your life - work, relationships, some trauma you haven't come to terms with. I started with anxiety after a physical illness - told I was okay, but the anxiety remained. Anxiety and panic can take you unawares. Have the medical checks to put your mind at rest and rule out a physical cause, then it may help to look into cognitive therapy books (lots on Amazon), I found them helpful. Best wishes.

WHY cant this be anxiety????  Your symptoms sound very typical for an anxiety attack.  Presumably your doctors have ruled out anything serious - I would be inclined to listen to their diagnosis and start the appropriate treatment.

You sound exactly like I USED to feel for  3 months I couldn't even leave the house . I've had extensive med tests from head to toe ..all negative .. It's scary as hell but you'll get better ..read through these posts ..you'll see you're not alone ..an get some good advice from them ...My only SUGGESTION do your best to beat this without or with as little meds as possible ...Good luck God Bless
