Tingling in feet, legs, arms, hands, stomach & back

I really don't know what to do. I am tingling almost all over, in my feet, legs, arms, hands, stomach and back. 6 doctors later and they tell me it's anxiety, all tests for everything else are negative. This feeling is driving me insane. It's been going on for weeks. I have a hard time believing anxiety brought this on, and am seeking further medical advice. This is effecting me so bad I'm nearly depressed, any ideas?

I have been having tingling in my arms, back, and stomach, sometimes through my legs on and off since Thursday. I had a very stressful day at work and it started on the way home from work. I have always had anxiety and tend to worry and stress about everything. It could be that, but I worry it's something else. No pain or anything though. I did have shingles 2 years ago in my back and sometimes that nerve hurts when I stress real bad, but that isn't hurting now. HELP!!

I feel the same way...stress about certain things brought this about. And it continues, it's hard because you have anxiety, then the tingles and numbness start. Then you get more anxiety from this on top of your other anxiety you have, then it gets in your head and it's hard to stop.let me know if you would like to talk.it can really help when you do

I am going through the same thing. Mainly in my arms and legs. When I sit or lay down it's worse, sometimes ift feels like my whole body. I got stressed out about something.. and then I started and won't stop. It's from anxiety I'm sure. When I exercise I don't feel it very much but when I stop and sit down it starts. Who else has this situation.

I have tingling on hands and legs. Also weakness on right arm sometimes. I have bee so scared. I finally had an EMG and an MRI done of my brain and they are negative. The Drs. say its anxiety so i just started taking anxiety pills and hopefully they work. Im also low i vitamin D not sure if that could be causing the tingling also.

I've had intestinal problems for the past 15 years which got progressively worse. Started out with dairy intolerance. Egg intolerance followed a few years later. Then, around 2002 I started feeling nauseous all the time. This went on til 2008 when I started getting spells of visual migranes (you lose sight in a large portion of your field of vision for a span of about 45 mins ... scary as hell the first time). Then I started getting a tingling, burning numbness in my hands and feet. Doctors and neurologists all wrote it off as stress. There's no doubt that stress can be a component, but I'd also been getting canker sores in my mouth for years due to acidity, and doctors will tell you to just avoid acidic foods and maybe take Nexium. By this point I was at wits' end. I reluctantly went to see a naturapath/endocrinologist who put me on an insane dairy/egg/fruit/gluten/wheat/potato/tomato free diet and in the span of two days I felt better than I'd felt in the past 15 years. For two weeks I lived on meat, fish, chicken and green veggies. I unfortunately found out that I'm gluten intolerant as well (and man do I love pasta). It's a hellish diet but all my symptoms have cleared up, including my acidity, and I can honestly say life is worth living again. Moral of the story: if your doctor tells you it's JUST stress, tell 'em to go to hell. There's no doubt stress hurts, and the periods where I felt worst were stressful periods, but I used to be extremely laid back and I suddenly developed panic attacks and general social anxiety. All these things disappeared when I felt better. They may also be a result of how ridiculously exhausted I was all the time (and I didn't realize this til I realized how much extra energy I had once I felt better).

I bet the garlic helps because it lowers the amount of histamine in your body, as does vitamin c and magnesium and some other things.  I find the tingling is about 1/4 less when I take things to help, I wish garlic worked for me alone that would be great!  Histamine production has a lot to do with stress as does anxiety, my doc said.  Anyway I am in this club of tingling all the time.  I hope someone comes up with something to help.  I find cold showers help but only while I am in the shower.  I think the solution may be for sure getting to the bottom of the anxiety.  I feel like a bugged out, buzzing tingle pop most the time.  good luck to everyone.

It is more than definately anxiety I have been to the DR and ER more times than I have had a non shaky minute I have had all the tests MRI etc all clear and have found my cure and it is not in the form of a tablet (I cannot put those chemicals in my body)! I read a book called Self Help For Your Nerves by Dr Clare Weeks and it has changed my life please read it and re read it and re read it it works!!!!!!!!!!

Peace to you all and remember the nerves will never kill youx

try garlic pills...i have had this issue for quite some time. I started to take garlic pills and it seemed to diminish. i ran out about a week ago, after taking them for a year and a half, not having to time to get the ones that i like. All of these symptoms have come back!. ..almost tenfold!

you can get odourless garlic and you can pretty much take as many as you like...side effects: i have not a cold, flu etc since i began!

I have been having tingling in various parts of my body for a little over a month now,  I went to a neurologist who did an emg and brain MRI which were both negative.  My PCP and neurologist both seem to think its anxiety also.  I am having  a hard time believing that this can be related.  I was also told by my therapist that I castastrophise and think the worst (like MS).  Even with doctors reassuring me nothing is wrong, I am still convinced something is. I know what I am feeling is real!

hi all, i have been having panic attacks and related anxiety for about 20 odd years. being a stubborn wench i have neglected to get help regarding symptoms. for the last 10 months i have been in a constant cycle of panic and distress thinking my symptoms are degenerative and life threatening. i have been told i catastrophise.....lol, true enough. having said that, i have been having twitches under my skin, electric shock zaps, and more recently tingling/vibrations in the soles of my feet predominantly but also very occasionally in my pubic area, lift side of abdomen and fingers. i finally went to see my doctor (very brave) explained my symptoms and that i have panic attacks and anxiety all the time and she was more concerned about my anxiety than my symptoms!!! was not expecting that, she also said that the symptoms were all related to anxiety dissorder and that when i sort help and learnt to control the attacks i would soon find my symptoms to dissapear. this was only last week. i am now seeing a physcologist. slow learner!! anyway, it certainly seems like everyone's symptoms here are very similar and we have all been told similar things by our doctors. good luck all and lets take strength in the fact that we are not alone and perhaps should all relax and destress.....

Hi Thank you for the reply :) I think I'm going nuts lol It seems to happen alot & yes I live a stressful life I work online & notice these vibrations when I am sitting down but they do happen when walking & standing not much when I lay down? I really don't want to go back to the dr they don't tell me much but suggest many tests just to see & it costs alot of money. I did receive a letter that my sugar was a little high no number though it just said to make an appt in 3 months to recheck so it wasn't too high. These vibrations don't hurt but they are scary any other help would be great!! mothermoon

I had the same thing as well, with muscle twitching. Its off and on. As long as there isnt any atrophy or weakness, it more than likely anxiety. Ive suffered on and off since 2006. Its a normal symptom of severe anxiety. Just to ease your mind go see a neurologist. However, I pretty sure its anxiety. I had that and muscle twitches and still dealing with them. However, today I think my meds are kicking in and I feel happy so I havent hardly had any symptoms today, just a few twitches.

Just know this is classic signs of anxiety.

Hi angel... I apparently have restless leg syndrome and it feels like that. And it's not just my legs, its my hands, sometimes my whole body. It took me 20 yrs to figure out what it was. It definately feels similar to anxiety, especially when trying to sleep. Personally I take Tylenol if it's too bad, and I have to take sleeping pills at night to fall asleep. I can't say this is what you have, or what will work to help, but it's something to look into.

I've had anxiety before and I got tingling and very mild numbness in my left arm and hand. I know how hellish anxiety can be. I'm with you on that. Another thing that could be causing your tingling is hyperventalation. You are probaly just so anxious all the time and you don't notice but your breathing becomes more rapid if you are anxious. It can last for days or hours. Try not to freak yourself out. I did that and it got me no where. I know it's hard, but just know that everything is okay. You're just going through a rough patch. Also, continue on with your life, don't let the anxiety consume you. Work, play, go out with friends and family or whatever it is that you like to do, while keeping some normalcy and balance in your life. It helps big time.
