Vitamin B12 blood level

Hi
I was on Vitamin b12 supplement to treat a defficiency, then due to cervical discarthrosis my doctor prescribed injections of non steroidal anti-inflammatory in combination with vitamin b12. Now, I find myself with very high blood level of vitamin b12 (3650 pg/ml) compared to the normal level (200 - 900 pg/mL). Late in the summer, i started to experience anxiety attacks. I read a lot about the relation between anxiety attacks and high vitamin b12 levels. Can anyone tell me if anxiety is really related to vitamin b12? Has any doctor seen such a high level? How long does it take to get back to a normal? Is there any treatment or antidote? knowing that I stopped food rich in vitamin b12
Thank you
Nour

Well, you can try the buspar, but keep in mind it doesn't perform well in clinical trials -- the manufacturer keeps trying to find some use for it -- but you never know.  But yes, I'd definitely look for a physiological cause, and I think as you describe it you might have found it -- the corticosteroid.  But one should always look for a physiological cause before going on these meds, as they are serious drugs, and failing finding one should try therapy and relaxation techniques also before using drugs.  I think they're really only for those of us like me who tried all that stuff and failed with it and whose lives were seriously affected by it to the point of chronic difficulty with living.  You don't fit that description as far as you state.

Thanks Paxiled for your reply
Do you think I should look for the physiological reason behind anxiety attacks or just deal with it as a disorder by itself?
Never been anxious in my life (am 41 now) except in May 2008 when I had to deal with my mother's cancer. That time my doctor prescribed cipralex  for situational depression which i took for 2 years and a half, then I stopped it by tapering off for around 5 months. My doctor says now that i am not depressed and don't need to go back on cipralex; she prescribed Buspirone to start with 5mg once a day then we will increase the dose. I am just wondering if these anxiety attacks are secondary to some other disorder. Any lab tests to be done?

The anxiety attacks are more likely related to the cortico-steroid, which affects cortisol levels.  Many people are made anxious by cortisone and its offspring.  As for B12, it stores in the liver even though it's not fat soluble but it will dissipate on its own.  You can leach some out by taking too much folic acid and B6, as the three are naturally in balance and increasing any one of them will affect levels of the others.
