SORRY ONCE AGAIN THE GRAMMAR!!!!!!!!!!! In that one sentence i meant to type it just makes me mad that a Pdoc would make me so lethargic and an all around zombie..
Thank you for your response, Like I have probalbly mentioned in previous posts I have O.C.D and you know I just wish that I would have looked into natural treatments; before I trusted this doc... You know I was never on really high doses of benzos... I have been on Klonopin for 5 1/2 yrs. at 0.5mg 2xdaily. Which is not very high. It's just that when I started going into tolerance from the Klonopin, it brought about Panick Attacks... So the doc like you said had the same solution.... Okay I will put you on Ativan with the Klonopin for afternoon anxiety.... What an idiot!!!!!!!! I used to be the kindest, most compassionate, caring, sensitive and creative minded person with alot of potential and it just makes me mad that would make me Lethargic and make me feel like an all around zombie..... You said that you were on two benzos before if you don't mind me asking.... Which one were you on? And how long did it take to get off?
Peace and love Greenlydia
Your friend Nate(+)
You are talking to the Queen of Overmedication! I had a doctor at one point on my "journey" who was of the school of thought that if one benzo was good than two would be even better and let's toss in an SSRI for *&^%$^ & grins then we'll add a pain med or two for that little bit of arthritis......and some hormone "stuff" for those pesky menopausal symptoms and is that a slight infection you have? Well, I've got just the antibiotic for you.........Nate, Sweetie...........4 days later my friends and family found me laying on the beach 150 miles from where I live. Have no idea how I got there, why I went there, what I was gonna do once I got there. I was SO messed up, I didn't think I was going crazy, I KNEW I WAS ALREADY THERE!
I am not making light of what you are going through. You are going thru your own version of hell. But there IS an exit and you're heading in the right direction towards it. You just gotta hang tough, keep your eye on the ball.
If you truly think your doc is a quack, then my advice is to RUN AWAY! (I sure as hell wish I had all those years ago!) Talk to a pharmacist about your taper program. I have said this so often to so many people, but your local pharmacist is an incredible source of knowledge and advice! They are DOCTORS OF PHARMACOLOGY and they freaking KNOW everything there is to know about meds. They cannot legally alter or change any of your meds, but they can give you incredible insight and reassurance. They can also tell you if they think your doc is full of excrement!
My best advice for you right now is to discuss this with a pharmie, then another visit to your doc sounds like a good idea. Getting off benzos is not easy, but it can be done with relative ease when and if it's done right. With the amount of "pain" you are going through, it sounds to me like your w/d is not being handled correctly. You have been going through this rough patch for way too long! Time to get pro-active in your own health care, Nate! Get educated from the right sources and then confront your doc. Or find another. Are you into any therapy yet? If not, please make that your second stop after the pharmacy! We love you man, and we're all rooting for you.
(And grammar schmmar-ain't no judging going on here!)
Peace
Greenlydia
