Wondering about Anxiety symptoms

Hi.  I am hoping someone can give me some input (and maybe reassurance).  I had a tough year with death of Dad, demise of a business etc. and it caused anxiety to raise its ugly head as I hadn't really had problems with it in about five years.  I went to the ER twice with racing heart and I had low potassium which they gave me pills and sent me home.  The racing heart is better as I have been taking some amino acids (l-theanine) which may be helping after trying some GABA and other stuff.  So I feel better panic wise but I have major fatigue.  I get on the ellipitical which I used to do everyday for at least twenty minutes and it is a struggle.  I feel tired all the time.  It seems the veins on my hands are  more prominent and my skin is pretty sensitive to touch (i.e my daughter banged into me and it really hurt like my skin is sensitive).  Can this be all anxiety related?  Will it subside?  I went to a psych doc who literally spent five minutes with me and handed me a script of Lexapro which I tried to take but after six days the panic attacks were so much worse and the racing heart so I am hoping I can tackle the anxiety naturally if possible.  So any advice would be so appreciated!!

Thanks to you all for responding.  It  just feels better I am not the only one who has these issues.  I started taking some L-Theanine yesterday after trying some other amino acids adn it does seem to help.  I will add the B vits and try even harder to eat better.

The fatigue could be down to having adrenal exhaustion.  There is a test u can take via a nutritionist, u give 5 saliva samples over the course of the day and it measures the cortisol output.  I had this done and it came back very low and since I have been using both food and supplements to strengthen my adrenal glands.  Also it may be worth trying a vitamin B-complex to increase ur energy levels, as anxiety uses and depletes B-vitamins quickly causing worsening anxiety and fatigue.

Hello, I have been dealing with a bout of aniexty myself. I too am having a tough time coping with the lose of my dad. i like the thought of going natural to deal with anxiety instead of prescribed med's but sometimes they are needed. I think all the signs you are you have mention can be related to anxiety. I do think in time this symptoms will subsided. Along with a good counslor and breathing exercises i think it will help out alot.
Hang in their it does get better.
