Xanax question

Iight I take Xanax 0.25 three times a day as needed for anxiety but my question is if I take 2 of these at once does it still work the same as if u are taking a 0.5 mg pill? Cause the reason for asking is that I need to start taking these before I hit the bed for sleep so I can relax myself down which at night it gets worse?

As I understand it, Xanax should not be used as a daily maintenance drug, but it is used when anxiety flares up or one is having a panic attack.  See your doctor for your sleep problems and see if he or she recommends another medication for controlling your daily anxiety.

Yes, it's the same as taking a .5mg pill.  However, using benzos regularly to help you sleep can open a long-term can of worms, as it can result in you not being to sleep anymore without them.  This is called rebound insomnia.  You really do need to find a way to sleep that doesn't involve benzos, and it would be good if you can find a therapy or perhaps if that hasn't worked an antidepressant or some other form of medicine that gets you off taking benzos regularly at all.  In the meantime, remember, if you finish your prescription early you will be looked at as a drug abuser and find it difficult to get new benzo prescriptions, as this is an addictive and abused drug.  So if you take the two pills, you can't take more than the other one the rest of the day.
