Well, I've had panic attacks in the middle of the night when I had been sound asleep, and I've read that others do too. Yes, anxiety can come even when you're relaxed. Anxiety has physical components, so if your blood sugar changes, for instance, it can trigger physical reactions that feel like anxiety, which then makes you feel anxious. (I'm not a doctor, but this has been my experience.) You might try journaling or otherwise tracking things like where you are in your menstrual cycle, how long it's been since you've eaten, taken caffeine/other medicines, each time you have an episode, and then try to change things based on your observations. I've gone months/years without significant anxiety, then had it return. Life events play into this, although I think you have to be physically predisposed. Some people have one or two episodes, then it goes away and never returns. For others, not so lucky. But it is manageable. One thing that helps is to ask yourself, "what happened the last time I felt like this?" Usually, nothing bad has actually happened, so you can kind of relax and say, just because I feel anxious doesn't mean anything bad is actually going to happen. So, for instance, if you want to go on a cruise, ask yourself, "What's the worst that can happen? I might have some anxious feelings." Hope this helps.
well that makes three of us. i would be sitting doing nothing or thinking about anything in particular an up comes mr anxiety attack. im so sick of it. i hope someone comes along to let us why this is happening an how to avoid it
You know...I was wondering the same question. I have been so good for 3 months then out of the blue I have anxiety again. Why? I have no idea. I myself have been busy and try not to think about myself. What the heck is going on? Does it always come and go? My friends and family would like to plan a wonderful cruise next year. I wonder...Gee...how will I be? So I really understand how you feel. Why does this happen? Nana
