This is an old post, you might want to make a new one to get more help.  However, your post is very confusing.  We all know what gas feels like, and I'm sure you do, too.  Nobody goes to the ER for gas.  You say you had "discomfort," but to go to the ER it had to be a whole lot more than just that.  It must have been a significant amount of pain to get you to do that.  If it wasn't, if it was in fact just some discomfort, it seems unlikely you'd go to the ER, which is only for emergencies.  If anything you'd go to your regular doc, if you have one, or find one, as it's a lot less expensive than going to the ER.  The fact they did a CAT scan seems to indicate again you described something a lot more than just discomfort, as that's a high radiation test and only used, or should only be used, when there's a really good reason for it.  I assume the doctor who saw you at the ER was a gastroenterologist, but you don't say, and one of those would surely recognize gas.  A lot of people with anxiety go to the ER when they really really don't need to, and it's not the best place to get treatment -- when they treat you for anxiety they just give you some drugs as their job is to triage patients quickly and move on, expecting you to follow up with your regular doc afterwards.  So what exactly are you feeling?  Is it so intense you thought you might have appendicitis or something like that?  Gas is a pressure, and it can be relieved by eating, by not lying down soon after eating, even doing some abs to push out the gas.  Simple and gentle remedies can fix it, such as taking a digestive enzyme supplement or some aloe vera juice or many other things and trying to figure out what in your diet or the way you eat -- eating too quickly, for example, or being sensitive to dairy or wheat or spicy foods or other common sensitivities -- is causing the problem.  Digestive issues are very common with anxiety sufferers, and the cure is to cure the anxiety, which isn't easy to do but controlling it is the only way to fix the problem.  Exercise, meditation, breathing exercises can slow your system down even if you're still anxious and often help tamp down the physiological stuff we get when we're anxious a lot.  I guess I would ask, did you follow up with your regular doc?  Are you in therapy or some other treatment for the anxiety?  You say you've been feeling bad for two months, so again, have you been to your regular doc, who can follow up with you and give you a diagnosis based on more than a few minutes in an ER with patients stacked up.  And again, if you do all this in a new post, more people are likely to see this and offer help once you more fully explain just what is going on and how bad this pain is and exactly where it is and how it feels.

I suffer from the same thing!! I found that drinking soda pop helped a little but not much. What I drink is Regular, good old fashioned soda water. The soda water is much more efficient removing gas from my stomach. Also, During a panic attack Remember your breathing!! try and slow it down, this will help you become calm.

Hey hun. Sorry for what you are going thru. I was in the same boat a couple weeks ago I have anxiety with panic and ibs. My dad was so cash it got in my chest and cause severe pain which made new feel like I was having a heart attack. Which made me go to the er.

Nothing they have me helped so I went on the net after they told me it was gas. And found exercise to do to relieve gas.

1) hold both hands above your head and count to ten twisting from side to side.
2) get in all fours and thrust forward and back slowly 6_7 times. Repeat as needed. There is one more but omg I can't remember it. But repeat then and see how it helps. It really helped me alot. and drinks with acid could help or make it worst. P.s. Them exercise will make you pitas gas both ways so be prepared. Also more exercise us on the net type in exercise to relieve gas.

Hope this helps would love to know how you doing keep in touch.

Sorry you are feeling so bad.  I have anxiety as well IBS so I can relate to you.  My gastro reommends peppermint or ginger to help settle my stomach when I am having issues.  I found that the peppermint tea has been really helpful with excess gas.  You might want to give it a try....

I hope you can find some relief soon.....

You could try drinking something carbonated which will cause you to burp and hopefully help you get rid of some of the gas causing you such anxiety. There are some OTC remedies like GasX you could try or talk with the pharmacist about his/her recommendations. If nothing works, you should see your doctor to figure out why you can't seem to expel the gas.
Peace
