brain tumor anxiety

I'm a 23 year old male. I am a hyperchondriac... Whenever something is wrong with me I Google it on the internet. I have had a couple of panic attacks. I recently had a colonoscopy done because I thought I had cancerous polyps.. i In 2009 I thought I had a brain tumor. I was experiencing headaches and numbness in my toes... I went to the ER and had a CAT scan conducted. The results were normal..  Once I heard the results were normal my pain went away..On December 19  a friend I went to high school with passed away from a brain tumor. Christmas Eve I started to have a throbbing pain in the front of my head.. A couple of days later my head started to feel heavy and I felt pressure. I've also have tingling and numbness in my hands and feet.. Also, sometimes I feel dizzy and loose my balance. I haven't been myself lately.. I've lost my appetite, I feel weak, I stay tired, and at times I feel disoriented (out of it).. I'm making an appointment tomorrow to see a neurologist,,, I think I'm tricking my body into believing I have a tumor.. Does anyone else have similar problems???

You have admitted you're a hypochondriac as well as a cybercondriac thanks to all the info on the internet so thats a start on your way to recovery.     You will need to have faith in the doctors who have declared you healthy.     The anxiety and panic will slowly fade over time once you start to really believe that.    But there could be something else going on in your life that has isolated you from others.       Social contacts and relationships are important to change this situation.

I think your on the right track! By reading your post my honest suggestion would be to try seeking advice from a therapist and/or psychiatrist. What you have sounds like a somatoforum disorder. A Somatoform disorder, is a mental disorder characterized by physical symptoms that suggest physical illness or injury. The symptoms that result from a somatoform disorder are due to mental factors. In people who have a somatoform disorder, medical test results are either normal or don't explain the person's symptoms. Patients with this disorder often become worried about their health because the doctors are unable to find a cause for their health problems. Symptoms are sometimes similar to those of other illnesses and may last for several years. Somatoform disorders are not the result of conscious thinking or planning. sufferers perceive their sympomts are real. Therapy can help this. Lots of people have this disorder, so I wouldn't feel singled out. If you're open, treatment can be very successful.

yes i used to get this all the time just like you i thought i was dying from a brain tumour, and our stories are so similar because i too have just lost a friend to 3 tumours on her brain, but believe me everything you are suffering are pressure headaches tension and stress, which in turn plays a big part in the way it all effects your muscles because you are so stressed you are tensing up which will cause the nerves in your muscles to tense to causing the numbness, your mind is a powerful tool which is convincing that you have all these awful illnesses when in fact when stressed and anxious all these symptoms are very normal
