burning/anxiety

ok ive had anxiety forever, but just recently i went to a psychiatrist for it and was prescribed zoloft, and have been taking 50 mgs every day, but today i had an anxiety attack on the highway, but it felt so different. I felt like i was going to pass out LITERALLY, i saw the sparkles and everything, so i pulled over. I got this terrible burning sensation in my arms and head and i got really sweaty and hot and i felt as if something was seriously wrong! my friends were able to calm me down, but ive never experienced something like that before- ive never been so close to passing out before, and the burning sensation....can anxiety cause something like that? it seemed so unreal. now im terrified of passing out while driving- but i wondered, also, if taking something (like zoloft) for anxiety, effect like how your anxiety attack feels? ive never had my anxiety attack feel like that before, so i wondered if maybe it was just how the medicine was reacting to my anxiety...i dont know...does anyone know the answer to those 2 questions?

Sounds like Lyme, I suggest talking to your Doc about doing some test to check for it.

The faster you figure out if it is, the faster you can treat it, and get rid of it.

But, in anycase, anxiety can do this too

I have anxiety for the last few years and I can't say what you had happen was a anxiety attack it very well may have been a reaction to your meds, I would discuss this with your doctor. I will say that for me the attacks have been at first anxiety pretty much like what you had just stress nothing like a attack. Then slowly they became more and more until one day i was driving and I actually could feel a attack coming it was not just anxiety it was shaking and a feeling of fear and I know this sounds strange I have never heard of anyone else mention this in a anxiety attack, I actually started having tunnel vision as if you were looking down a telescope. You have the feeling that something is getting ready to happen very wrong, and you are about to pass out. That is exactly what happen to me, I pulled over and after about 15 minutes it passed.
In my case I reallly attempted to just ignore these events but they only became worse and more frequent. The attacks eventually started happening more and more and I started getting to the point that I was not leaving my house as much due to the fact that I was worried about having a attack in public. The problem with me is once I start worrying about it I would have another attack, it is a vicious cycle.  If the attacks start becoming more frequent you might need to get a different medication.

I'm so glad I found this forum.....though I haven't been to a Dr. (mostly becuase I'm afraid of what I might be told) I have been really struggling with anxiety lately. My hands, feet and even tongue burn sometimes, I have small muscle twitches, and from time to time I feel "pins and needles". Every muscle in my body feels tense. I just had a baby three months ago and this constant worry/anxiety is ruining my relationship with my husband and interfering with baby bonding!!!

I have very similar symptoms, all after taking an antibiotic. Have you ever taken an antibiotic before?

I recently began to have anxiety attacks that scare the heck out of me. I have had a burning tingling sensation on my hands and arms. I am fine most of the day but by evening the anxiety really kicks in and my hands and arms go crazy with that feeling and I go into a full blown anxiety attack to where I can't even fall asleep at night. I am awaiting results of bloodwork up which I was suppose to have yesterday and of course the dr is not in today. I also have been experiencing pins and needle feelings in my feet and some twitching. I am leaning towards it all being stress induced but will wait til I hear from the dr. Hope you feel better.
