Coming off xanax, please someone answer, I'm so worried and scared

HI

I've been on .25mgs of xanax for 13 days twice a day,  I'm so worried about it, I'm having anxiety just thinking
about stopping it.  My endo put me on it because I was so anxious when my thyroid meds got messed up.  Well
he sais take it 2 times a day for a couple of weeks.  Its been 13 days, am i going to have seisures and stuff.  He called today to say, go ahead and only take one a day and if you need the other at night to take it.  i started taking
1/2 of the .25 two nights ago and then this morning I only took 1/2 of the .25 and all day i've been freaking out about it.  Am i addicted now?  I keep telling myself your just scared, it will be okay.  Can someone please help me.

THanks

Your doctor isn't taking you off it abruptly, he's tapering you off, but after only 13 days I don't think you have too much to worry about.  Just taper off -- seizures only happen when you quit cold turkey, which your doctor is blessedly smart enough not to have you do.  You'll be fine.

Our bodies all react differently to medication. However, Xanax even though it can be addicting, has only been in your system for two weeks. I was taking Xanax last year for a couple months and did not have an issue stopping it when the time was appropriate. Our bodies all react differently and I am not a doctor. I'm using myself as an example to ease your anxiety. I feel that you are over worrying yourself over stopping the medication, which if it was to alleviate anxiety makes sense. You are stopping the medication under the supervision of a physician which is the best thing to do. Any concerns of side effects and the like you should talk about with your doctor and that may help alleviate your concerns. Hang in there.
