No, no, no. The post I was referring to got deleted. That wasn't to you at all. I'll try to use the "comment to:" feature more often to eliminate the confusion. There was a person on here who was obviously trying to steer people away from meds and toward the Lucinda Basset/MidWest Center clinic or whatever it's called.
Do you have a Chevelle? Those were badass cars.
I assume you may be talking to me re: Zoloft? I hope you are kidding, even so, it's not funny. I took Zoloft for 1.5yrs for my severe panic attacks and depression. It worked, okay, so I come on this forum to not only get advice but to hopefully help others with the hell that I know to be anxiety. If you would read some of my other posts, especially in the depression forum I think you might see where my intentions are. I will not waste my time on such a ridiculous question. What are you doing on the forum then? By the way, I went off Zoloft and now take Cymbalta, if that helps you sleep at night. God forbid I share advice on an anxiety forum about an anxiety medication!
i have to makemyself burp all day do any of you?
Yes, I have had that feeling before. If I think too much about it, I can't swallow a pill. It is all anxiety for me. There are muscles controlling your swallowing and if you get too tense you are going to get that feeling. I just have to actively say to myself "relax and just swallow" and then I'm fine. I would get it checked out by the primary care physician just to make sure you don't have GERD - a common problem, and at the worst you can get a swallow evaluation from a speech-language pathologist. I would be willing to bet a good bit of $$ that it is anxiety. PS.....I only took half a 50mg Zoloft too...and it got to the point that my psychiatrist said I may as well be med free because that is a SMALL dosage. Consider the dosage amt. of your Zoloft too with your doc:) Try to relax.
Honey you need to relax...I know how you feel I am 22 years old and have anixety but I have learned that somehow you need to stay in control or it will literally drive you insane. I really think you are thinking about not being able to swallow so much you are making yourself feel that way. I will think and think omg would if I have an anerisom and I die.... I think it so much I will give myself a headache and then I get so afraid that it is really gonna happen because my head hurts! It is crazy...For awhile I was taking ativan. It works right away unlike zoloft becuase that is for depression. Ativan suppresses the nervous system and it really really made me feel alot better. I am not taking it now because I want to try to control me fears on my own becuase I have 2 small kids I need to be strong for. I also think that you need to talk to a theripst also. You would really benefit from it. Sometimes all you need to hear is " you are not gonna stop being able to swallow because you have no medical condition that would make that happen" And they make you really think about things and you may even find yourself laughing about somewhere down the road like " what the hell was I thinking ....why on earth wouldn't I be able to swallow" So that is my advice...but honest you aren't the only person that has weird fears...sometimes my husband thinks I am insane. I thought I had Lukegarreks diasease, At the time I was convinced I did....but really I was twitching because of nerve damadge from an epidural... lol I can laugh about it now but at the time it consumed me. You really need to get some help becuase It is awful to live this way.. I know... and noone should have to. Good luck sweetheart... I will pray for you!!
Do you have some kind of financial interest in this company?
It's the anxiety that is causing the problems. Don't focus on the swallowing. I just did an experiment and concentrated on my swallowing...and sure enough..I started having trouble doing it. Take a deep breath and put your mind on something else or it will drive you crazy!!!!!
no I dont have it after I eat sometimes I think I just think about it to much but my mother has acid refluxs really bad so I may have inharited from her. But it really scares me b/c i dont want to stop swallowing..
