I have experienced serious chest pains before with my anxiety. When I am really nervous about some event or situation that can start the wheel in motion. I have found with my anxiety with every action there is a reaction.

Going to a psychiatrist or a psychologist to sort out what is the cause of your anxiety and possible magnifiers of your pain. I did this very thing 6 months ago and I am so thankful that I have learned so much about how I can minimize my anxiety symptoms. I'm sure you want to be pain free so pursue the medical help and the therapy option is good too.

If you have had a battery of tests and they say it is not cardiac in nature, then it probably is anxiety.  I suffered my first panic attack 3 years ago and was in the ER multiple times thinking that I was dying.  Needless to say, it threw me for a loop.  If doc's rule out medical problems, then anxiety can be a nasty thing to confront but it is very possilbe. For months, I fought numerous docs until I finally accepted the fact that I may be suffering from anxiety.

As far as medication goes, you are not a drug addict to talk with your doc about it; im my opinion, that is the correct way to do it.  I use an antidepressant combined with a med similar to xananx, but just realize that while it helps, it will not fix the underlying issue.  Find a good psychologist or psychiatrist to help you get to the root of these problems.

With anxeity, I often have chest pains, back pains, etc.  It can really make one upset and feel like you are losing control, but there is hope and it is very treatable.
