Well, it's not me anybody is talking to, but in Chinese medicine milk just isn't used much at all.  Dairy isn't considered food for adult mammals in any form of natural medicine, particularly cow's milk.  It presents so many intolerance and allergy problems that can create anxiety and other problems, so generally when you see any practitioner of natural medicine they will advise against dairy and wheat just as a first step.  They might okay fermented dairy, but even then would advise goat or sheeps milk, never cow's milk (or eating beef much, for that matter).   Some ethnic groups do have the enzyme that allows the digestion of dairy, but most people don't, so this is just a good first place to start and see if it helps.  The purpose of the milk is the tryptophan, which is also high in turkey and some other foods, but then you have all the possible digestive and other potential problems to consider.  But it has nothing to do with the clonazepam, which targets GABA, while tryptophan is involved with serotonin production, so it's not that.

I do NOT mean to be confrontational in any way and I have tremendous respect for Chinese medicine, so I AM very interested to know why you suggest this poster not drink warm milk with clonazepam.

It is known in medical reports that klonopin should not be taken with any type of food, drink or any other medication containing calcium. Please look it up.
This is interesting.  The manufacturer says that if this drug upsets your stomach to take it with a meal, and it can be taken both with and without one.  As for calcium, it appears to have a problem if you're taking calcium drugs or calcium carbonate in drugs, which is a poorly absorbed form of calcium found in cheap supplements -- basically it's a rock and is used in, for example, cheap antacids.  Whether this applies to food forms of calcium is unclear to me -- the only warning I found was Livestrong, and that's not an authoritative source for anything but can be food for further research.  I've been taking this drug for more years than I can remember, and I don't recommend anyone doing that, but years ago this drug was prescribed like candy and it's just too hard to stop taking if you take it that way for many of us.  I've never noticed any problem taking it with a meal, though I usually don't take it then.  I'm guessing calcium in food doesn't present a problem, such as in kale or other greens, but might in milk because milk is a problem in and of itself for so many people.  I've looked at medical reports and see no such warning except in regard to calcium channel blockers and medication that contains, again, calcium carbonate.  So I guess definitely don't eat an oyster shell with it or a bone, but as to other foods, I'm now quite curious and can't say I can find a true answer here because Livestrong is not authoritative.  Just as it's founder wasn't authoritative, either!  I'm glad this post was made and I wish I could find a better answer than I did looking at FDA reports, NIH reports, and the manufacturer's own warnings.  Other interesting fact:  the pill contains lactose, the sugar in milk that presents the most problems for people with eating dairy.  Also interesting.

You can drink warm milk with anything I guess.Ask whoever prescribed your meds to ensure that's correct. Good Luck!

Sure you can.  I don't know of any foods or drinks (besides alcohol) that would react badly with this drug... i've been on it several years, with and without various foods, no problems.  Blessings - Blu
