I had anxiety for a year.  And since jan of this yr it went away.  I had al the ER visits and heart check ups. Cuz i always felt i was havng a heart attack.  Well i now fear my anxiety is back.  I recently lost my job and my marriage is a struggle the past 5 mnths.   The past weeek when i fall asleep, i wake up in middle of the nite scary feelings.  Short of breath, fast heart beat followd by a dull center chest pain that last a few Hours.  I swear it feels like im abt to die when all this happens.  Did my anxiety come back???  I use to take lorazapam and it workd great.   I dnt wnt to go thru anxiety again!!!  It always happens at nite this past weeek.  I had my appendix removd 3 mnths ago and the doc said he didnt see any other posible stomach issues.   Help me anyone if u can.

Thank you all so very much!   I have had echo test, many ekgs and stress heart test all last year and all cleared.  So it is just frustrating.   I have seeked counseling but my insurance ended so I need to get back on so I can talk to someone about it,  And I agree maybe going back on my pills will help calm it down, I have not had to nor have I taken a anxiety pill since march of this yr. SO it has been almost 6 months without having to take one. I still have like 17 left in my bottle. Lorazapem that is.   I used to have to go everywhere with them and would freak out if I did not have them.  I do not want to get back to that again, was horrible.    I hate the skipped heart beats and loss of breath and scary feelings all this brings.. I have been to the er multiple times last yr cause I feared the worst, and everytime nothing happened.   everything came back fine.. so its just crazy to me!!  any other remedies or ideas on what you guys do or have been thru please share!!!  I am so glad I am not alone

In my experience, anxiety can definitely has it's peaks and valleys.  You are also under a lot of stress right now and in my opinion that can bring on many of it's symptoms and characteristics.  I also believe that it can be really hard, especially when we haven't experienced it for an extended period of time (I went for years between episodes) and when it comes back, it can be that much more exacerbating than before.  Have you ever considered counseling?  You are going through a lot right now anyway and seeking help for this can only move you forward in my opinion...keep us posted!

Anxiety can be a one time thing for the lucky few, or it can be something you struggle with your entire life. It may not rear it's ugly head for months, then suddenly BAM, there it is. It sits on you, and you feel helpless. What's worse is you often don't want to discuss it with other for fear of being looked at as a nut or being judged as weak or unreliable.

Chances are your anxiety has creeped back, and you'll need to head it off at the pass. Once you recognize it coming on, you need to talk yourself through and remind yourself it is just anxiety, and that you are alright. Find something to distract yourself and get your mind off your worries. You're going through some heavy stuff right now with the loss of your job and marital problems, that's a lot of weight to carry around. The last thing you need is to worry about something that isn't real, ie, a heart condition.

It certainly could be anxiety! If it will make you feel better, have an ECG done by your doctor. If your heart appears normal, it is probably time to consider seeing a mental health professional. Anxiety can be suppressed by medication. The causes of anxiety cannot. Treating your anxiety may be the only and best answer to your chest pains.

Seems like your going through a rough situation. Anxiety never really goes away like that, it may ease up because u have learn to control it, but aslong as you were a anxiety sufferer, it's always there waiting on the right time to bounce back. If u saw your dr about it and he said that your ok then u may need to get back on your anxiety coping remedies. It sounds like anxiety to me because your going through a stressful period right now which is the perfect time for anxiety to return. But u got through it before I'm sure youll get through it this time. Hope this helped

God bless
