frequent urination and constipation

Over the last 2 weeks I have been experiencing mild abdominal pain and frequent urination. I went to the emergency room and got my urine tested and xrays done. Everything was fine, except they said I was constipated also they could tell I had anxiety problems from my body language. Every time I sit down I feel a pressure in my bladder and the urgency to pee. It burns every once in a while on the inside of the tip of my penis when I urinate. I was wondering if this is a typical overactive bladder symptom brought on by anxiety. I am worrying myself that something is wrong even though the doctor said I seem fine. Someone please respond quickly. Thanks

No that happened to me at around that age partially due to cumulative effects of the anti-cholinergic side effects of medications. I also have an inherited tendency towards that. Again it would depend on what your doctor tested for and ruled out as a cause though.

I am only 21 years old, isn't that a little young to be having a prostate infection?

I've had this happen from a prostate infection and I've had some of what you describe (esp. constipation) as side effects of medication. If they ruled out any direct physical cause you could ask if some of these problems could be from anti-cholinergic side effects of some medications (the same side effects that can cause blurred vision and dry mouth). If its fully determined to be from anxiety disorder try to track when it occurs and if it worsens during anxiety attacks and discuss what the best way to handle it is with your psychiatrist.
