hiv/aids anxiety

i am a bisexual and had sex about a week with 3 different men.. two of them i did not use condom and one i did.. after which i watched documentaries about hiv/aids and i was afraid.. i asked the three of them and they told me they are 200% sure safe because they do have annual check-up.. i want to have myself checked to be sure but all of the write-ups im reading about hiv/aids said that it should be 3 months after the last contact.. im afraid because im have colds now and i felt like i have fever but when i checked it with a thermometer its normal.. im getting paranoid.. is it ok if i have myself checked for hiv test now?

If you have not been assessed on our HIV Prevention Forum, I suggest you do that now.
But I can tell you what they will say.

If you had UNPROTECTED INSERTIVE ANAL SEX, you must be tested!

I am NOT the person who can tell you about the newest tests available, but I can say, we  certaintly, that only at 12 weeks post exposure will you receive a 100% conclusive test result.

You should check much sooner than that for other STDs.

I'm sorry you didn't watch that documentary BEFORE. Being educated about HIV is one of the surest ways to protect yourself.

Also, taking the word from someone that they are clear is very risky at best. Even if they have annual check-ups, they could become infected the next day. The only safe sex is protected sex.

I wish you the very best.
Peace

go to your dr tell him/her you want to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases.  If the are good the will do it now and again 6 months later to be sure.  You also need to protest your self everytime.  It is your responsibility to protect your self  every time!

You can get checked now. I do think you may need 2 more tests though after the first one. We have an HIV forum here at Medhelp if you would like to post your question there too. The people on that forum are very knowledgeable about anything HIV related. You really need to use a condom with every single sex act act to help protect yourself from any STD's.
