If Risperdal is treating psychosis it will of course return when stopped. If its treating mood disorders same in that regard. Best to have your psychiatrist have your medications adjusted to something else. As for the second poster what you describe could be a medication interaction and pressure sores can be lethal. Speak to the physician in charge or the hospital complaint division and make sure they adjust her medications and insure she is properly treated. They need to follow up at all times. The blood pressure drop from Risperdal is minor but if someone is taking blood pressure medications then it could be a problem.
My mother has recently been prescribed respirodal and I think her manic behavior is improving but she is very forgetful about simple things like where she left her rollers or brush. It is calming her down but it also making her thinking for lazy. Are these common side effects? Additionally, I read that it can increase heart beat and fluctuate blood pressure. Her blood pressure is already high and she is on several medications to control that. I just think my mother is on way too much medication that is all counteracting each other. Her main issue at the current time is her cellulitis and open sores. She has already been in the hospital for 10 days and I am worried that if not properly treated she will be right back. They took her off of anti biotic and prescribed anti-bacterial ointment of which she cannot find, side effects of respirodal. Need help
