Couple other things I though of after my last post that might be helpful for you:

Regarding the fear of dying from a heart attack:  one very common symptom of anxiety is the fear of disease and death.  I remember before my condition was properly treated I was always afraid of dying.  Every time I felt pain in any part of my body, I became immediately convinced that it must be a major disease and I was most certainly going to die from it.  I spent a lot of time on ****.com diagnosing myself with everything under the sun (stay away from that site if you're a hypochondriac ;-D   )  NONE OF THAT WAS TRUE!!!  I am now and was then perfectly healthy, and it was all in my head!  Anxiety disorder accentuates all of your fears, and the fear of physical harm and death is no acception.  If you can find the treatments as mentioned above, the fear of bodily harm will go away.  If it helps any, you are NOT going to die of a heart attack.

Any other questions, just ask!  I am certainy no health professional but I feel like I have enough personal experience with panic and anxiety that I can at least offer helpful advice.

Cheers!

Hi! I am sorry you have to go through this. Anxiety and panic are a hard struggle :( I started getting it at around 22 yrs old and Im now 39. I have "remission" periods, sometimes its been as long as a year in between, so I know the feeling of thinking we are over them. Unfortuneatly, it rears its ugly head when we least expect it.  Did you have any attacks during your pregnancy? I am currently preggo w. #7 and it has come back at full force. Maybe beings your little girl is only 4 months, maybe it could be hormones re-adjusting thats bringing them on now? Just a thought. I have a fear of heart attacks too. It s u c k s!  I feel for ya. I hope you feel better soon hon! Take care and congrats on your bundle of joy :)

I've dealt with panic attacks and anxiety for about 10 years now.  There's one thing I've learned: YOU DONT HAVE TO LIVE THAT WAY!

I recommend two things that really helped me.  The first thing you need to do (if possible) is visit a doctor and describe your symptoms.  Modern medicine has developed a number of drugs that are used to treat panic and anxiety.  Your doctor can help you find the right combinations of medecines and dosages to treat your symptoms.  I've found a good combination that is working well for me and has relieved most of my major symptoms.  I'm happy to give suggestions but i think your doctor can give you the best advice regarding the drugs that would work well in your case.

The second thing you need to do is to find a support group and TALK ABOUT IT.  Getting things off your chest is one of the best therapies for anxiety and can work as well if not better than medications (with no side effects!).  Even if its just a good friend or relative, make SURE you have someone you can relay your fears to on a regular basis.  Find a forum online and talk to people like us (most of whom will have helpful responses for you).

And lastly, DONT GIVE UP!  If you try something and it doesn't work, try something else.  There are options out there for you, and if you keep looking you WILL find relief!

Good Luck!
