klonopin exercise

Just recently, during a Spin class I had trouble breathing.  After several trips to the emergency room and the cardiologist's office, it has been determined that I suffer from a panic disorder.  These particular attacks will last for hours with no relief in sight.  One of the things I enjoyed most about my day was my morning work-out , but after the first panic attack, going to the gym only brought on more.  After seeing a psychiatrist who put me on .5 mg of klonopin daily, I am able to exercise and am completely free of panic attacks.  I usually take the klonopin a half an hour before working out, which allows me to exercise for two hours without the fear of a panic attack.  My question is could intense exercise help metabolize the klonopin out of my system?  The reason I ask is my husband and I were trying to get pregnant prior to the panic attack disorder.  I feel that I need the medication at the moment, but I also understand that it is a risky drug for pregnancy.

I am with you 100%. Exercise has and still does help me relieve stress.  My problem is that I suffered my first panic attack at my local YMCA, so my brain associates danger with this particular location.  My body reacts before I can even get my heart rate up, but not exercising would make me quite grumpy.  For this reason, I take the klonopin.  I'm just wondering if I might be working it out of system by intense exercise ( maybe an exaggeration).  It's probably just wishful thinking on my part.

Exercise can help improve anxiety. Stress is like a big build up within us. Exercise is one way of getting rid of some of that stress. I find it odd that exercise made you feel worse. Shows how we all differ.

There is a thread on pregnancy near the end of this page. Worth a read. All the facts are there about what can happen if on benzos and trying to have a baby.
