Namaste,
As you know, Klonopin (clonazepam) is in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. Klonopin (clonazepam) affects chemicals in your brain that may become unbalanced and cause seizures or symptoms of panic disorder.
Take your Klonopin (clonazepam) exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not decrease the dosage without consulting with him/her first.
Depression is listed as a minor side effect of Klonopin and seldom occurs, however, that doesn't mean that you couldn't be somewhat depressed because of the medication. Your side effects, however(if any) would normally exhibit themselves rather quickly, although that is not the case.
I would continue to take your medication as prescribed and talk with your healthcare provider. That would also be a good time to bring up the issue of an anti-depressant. Some individuals do very well on a combination of an anti-anxiety medication and an anti-depressant, whereas others don't. That's usually determined by trial and erro.
Not knowing your history it's difficult to make any recommendations that will give you the answers you need or just want to hear. Your provider is your best resource.

i forgot to ask, do you also take an anitdep. with your klonopin? ive have bad reactions to all the ones ive tried so im only on klonopin.maybe i should try to take an antidep too?
yah thats what i thinking too. do you remeber how you felt when you increase your dosage and how long it lasted?
i've never bee depessed before and my coworkers have been asking whats wrong with me so its makig me question myself..am i depressed? but then i go back to thinking i just increased my dose, im having surgery,im not depessed. every minute im thinking about this and what to do!
Ive been on Klonpoin for over 5 years now and one thing you shouldnt do with out checking with your Dr. is to decrease your dose.
Perhaps the tiresness that KPN causes is making you cranky, that and stressing on your surgery........good luck!
