myalgia a symptom of withdrawal?

I went cold turkey off Xanax for a few days and then got spooked by all the warnings.  Now I have developed a debilitating myalgia (muscle pain and stiffness) which I have some reason to believed is due to Xanax withdrawal. I went on a half  dose from .5 to .25 for the last two nites and now I am thinking I should go back to my full does of .5 mg and see if this myalgia subsides.  so my question is is this myalgia due to Xanax withdrawal?.  I will keep you posted on how it goes going back to the .5 mg dose.

Who knows?  I think your experiment is a good idea no matter what, because if you want to stop this med you should taper off slowly at a speed that suits you to be safe.  As for pain, these meds cause all kinds of side effects when you're on them and when you try to go off them, and pain is a common symptom.
