hi, i have had pac/pvc for 23 years they will not kill you but scare you to death. you need to see a cardio dr and get a check up to make sure this is what your having, yiu can wear a heart montor for a month and hope it catches it. i have wore them 3 times and everytime thats what it is but you need to make sure thats what your having, they will come and go ,yes stress can cause them as for me stress does not cause them they just do it when they want to. i hope you feel better about it . God bless you .Barbara

PVC is premature ventricular contractions
PAC is premature atrial contractions
Both of these are considered "normal" in an otherwise healthy heart. Most people have them.. some worse then others and some notice them more than others.
These are when you feel a skipped beat or a pause in your heartrate. They can also cause the fluttery feeling in your chest. I think you should see your doctor because not because there is necessarily anything wrong... palpitations are most often caused by stress.. anxiety...caffiene... alcohol... but seeing someone will give you peace of mind that there is nothing wrong. Being anxious only makes the palpitations worse.
take a stroll over to the heart rythm forum .. there are tons of folks over there that deal with palpitations and you will definately see a link between them and anxiety. :-)

thanks, can i just ask you what are pvcs and pacs? in england we just have palpatations are they the same thing??!! why do you yhink i need see my doctor do you think it could be a problem?
joanna
I would definately tell your therapist, talking to mine about the same fears you have while dealing with palpitations( I have pvcs and pacs) helped me learn to cope better with them and put things in perspective. I also had a cardiology workup - echo, ekg, holter monitor which gave me some amount of reassurance when everything came back normal.
Letting your anxiety and worrying affect the intimacy you have with your hubby will only cause you more anxiety :-) so be open with the therapist and make an appt with either your primary care doc or a cardiologist. The most difficult thing to face in life is the unknown. Once you know what you're dealing with you and your hubby and your therapist can face it head on together.
Good Luck
