I have night panic attacks also and I absolutely hate them........Sometimes they make you feel like you are going to be sick..By the time i get to the bathroom i realize what it happeneing and start my deep breathing excercises and sometimes i walk the halls till my body calms down.. I have accepted them in my life and sometimes believe it or not it makes them easier to handle. You are not alone.......take care

Yes, I know exactly how you feel...waking up to a panic attack is the worst kind I think. My heart pounds and I sweat and shake and feel light headed and nauseous and aweful. Like I'm gonna die or pass out or I start thinking things like "When will this end" or "I need to stop doing this I'm so dumb" or "I don't have time for this tonight I have got to sleep" but all those negative thoughts make it worse...you just have to try to breath and calm down....easier said than done right?? Good luck!!!

The worst of the panic is over, the worst is always the start! Calm down, deep breaths like MrGreen says..

You will be ok... You have had this before.... Your not going to die......

Big squeezy hugs to you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

OK. Sit yourself down. Look at the computer screen. We will use these words to get your mind what is going on. I will write this post and you will write a post back. When we panic it is the brain sending a message to the body to get ready for danger. But there is no real danger. It is just something we have triggered off. So our blood goes to the part of the body where it is needed most of all. You may feel a pounding heart. That is normal. Hard to breath normal. But this is were you need to focus. Don't breath through your mouth. Try using your nose. We tend to open our mouths wide to try and suck in air. That only makes things worse. Through the nose. Keeping your attention on the computer screen and my words. Thinking of how you can answer my post. You need to distract your mind away from thinking inwardly. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Medication you might be on? Theraphy had? Just focus on the writing. You will see that once you focus on the writing the panic will pass. Because for now you are giving it all your attention. By having something else to do you are taking your mind off it. So give that a go for now.
